I received a phone I hadn't ordered, with what was meant to be a SIM only contract. I rang up and asked where they thought the phone was, told them I had it, I didn't want a stocktake of their warehouse to make it look like the guy who processed my order had nicked it, and then agreed a price with the manager to keep it.
You could have done that weeks ago, but it's so obvious you've never wanted to that it was pointless to ever ask anyone here.0 -

They do not have millions of customers that would have had a recon iphone delivered within a few days of your OP!
Think about the situation conversely - what would you be doing if no phone had been delivered to you, and O2 had the same attitude towards you?Gone ... or have I?0 -

Also I wasn't really asking about the morals of keeping the phone (that is a given), but rather whether I would get in trouble further down the line, so your final point is rather pointless.0 -

Given how o2 cannot offer any discounts whatsoever on the handset or the pricing plans (due to apple regulations), I very much doubt they would have let me keep it or agree a "special price".

I think what we've all determined is that you have no morals or conscience. O2 will find out about it, and you might wish to know that an O2 employee has posted on this very board, so you can bet they'll know about it.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -

If O2 find out about it, big deal. I haven't opened the phone, and I will return it. Like I said earlier, I never stole the handset from their warehouse, so don't see how I should be punished for their error.
With hindsight I have just wasted the last minute writing this post...don't see why I need to defend my actions/morals to you.0 -
If you had got no phones, you would have been ringing up with steam coming out of your ears, and rightly so. Do you think O2 would have been trying to evade giving you a phone if this was the case that a mistake was made? I don't think so.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

It's not even worth trying to explain it to you. Someday, you'll lose something valuable, and someone will find it and just keep it for themselves. Then you'll complain and grouse about how no one had the decency to try and return it to their rightful owner. How can society really be a pleasant place to live if everyone acted in this way?Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

This is the most perverse logic of the lot, that because the phone is more valuable, you're less obliged to do anything to correct the matter
You're only worried that they might catch up with you.
Guess what? See if we care. Take your false posturing and waste someone else's time0
