It will end up being picked up otherwise, in fact, even if they are both put through as upgrades I think it would be picked up, I've picked it up before now on customers accounts because an advisor would check if its been returned. I agree with pretty much everything ric4vic says. Also if you have insurance you have to know which phone to use because if you use your sim in the wrong one then you wont be covered.
If you have online billing or an online account then you can see your order history on there.
And toniq, I did sign for both boxes, but I guess that will only be a problem if O2 realise they have sent out 2 phones.

It would, as sporedude says, be dishonest to keep it. But returning it should not leave you out of pocket. I would send an email using their standard customer service address pointing this out and requesting them to make arrangements to collect within (say) 7 days or you will treat the goods as unsolicited. They can send a courier at your convenience, prepay the postage or put you in funds to post it back special delivery (get a receipt!). If they do not, or do not pay in advance or do not respond to your timescale it is reasonable to treat it as unsolicited. I suspect that customer services will turn this round remarkably quickly.
Why not post back on this forum to tell us how quickly customer services can respond when their money is at stake rather than yours!
This is what I would do, I'm always honest (even went back to morrisons once to pay for a magazine that I had forgotten to pay for!) and find that it is the best policy.
Own up to them, give them an opportunity to collect it (or pay for you to return it). If they don't then I think it is fair to keep it - you've been honest and they've decided not to take it back. As above I imagine their response will be quite quick!!Any opinions are my own and are offered as advice only and not fact.0 -

This is similar to a case that I had, I rang up due to a fault with my N95 8Gb, they told me to send it back and the details would be in an email etc. The next day a refurbished handset came through the letterbox! I hadnt even sent the old one. I have since put latest firmware on the old one and its running ok. Lent it to a friend for now...do you think they will ever realise??

Being nosey: how did this work out?0

did you get to keep both.... if so - how exciting!! i would love an i phone but they're so expensive and mine would probably get stolen!!0

Sorry for late reply...just found this thread. I have kept it for now and am waiting for my first bill before I make my final decision. If they don't notice (and charge me for it) I am tempted to keep it and give it to a family member. Besides they have overcharged me continuously in the past (due to problems with their billing system), causing me to call every month to rectify the problem....I see this as karma for all the time I wasted0

I'm quite sure they will realise in the end, they always do.

When the Government has no morals whatsoever it filters down to those who have less scope to benefit from them; it is therefore not surprising that when an opportunity presents itself people consider taking advantage of it. Given the way networks treat their customers I would have no feelings of guilt - and no, they don't always realise!0

O2 make enough money, if they were a charity, I would say return it.
