I thought it was a bit harsh too Stevie, though I agree it wasn't racist. I can see where you're coming from, but if we restrict the comments in terms of who is allowed to post to those from here, then we'll probably end up representative of the BNP, which isn't a place I want to be in. I know that's not how you think, but that's my worry in terms of how these things play out from time to time (and let's be honest, we do get some BNP type raving hereabouts from time to time).

Wookster - How can you make good investment decisons if you don't keep an open mind?

Well the biggest investment choice I've made so far was not to buy a property. I decided that in 2004. In hindsight that's been one of the best decisions I've made.

My investment decisions are around buying low and selling high. I firmly subscribe to the George Soros theory of market behaviour: that the markets behave with irrational exuberance and excessive correction.

A little like Steve and Viva who have had health shocks, I thought it should provide you with a more balanced view. On the other hand I suppose if you have escaped from a bad situation you may think it is going to follow you wherever you go.

So what, I should be grateful to be here and I should !!!!!!?

That's a pretty pathetic attitude to have!

Just watching "This Morning" with a soldier who has horrific burns from a Taliban attack in Afghanistan, he's on with his girlfriend talking about how he lost all his mates in the armoured car. He and his girlfriend got married and are now looking forward to their future.

Kinda puts our financial troubles into perspective and doesn't it make our silly forum squabbles look pathetic?

EDIT: In fact. That's me. I'm done with it.

hahahaha we shall see how long that lasts.

The thing with perspective is this.

I too have a health issue which substantially changed my life.
So, you devote time to try and get better, you get some perspective and you live with it and make adaptations you need to etc etc etc...

and then you still need to decide where to live, how to save, and who to vote for.

No problem with your right to speak just cannot understand your attitude.

he is not saying that and you're being a bit dramatic about it.

he is saying take it all into context in the global crisis the world is in.
i would rather be here than most other places with regards to the economy; the UK isn't the worst place in the world to be in at the moment but also it's not the best but better than most

Grateful if you could point out where I even suggest this,

but if we restrict the comments in terms of who is allowed to post

I am merely attempting to understand another posters point of view when comparing to past experiences.

What attitude is that? That I don't think the UK is best placed to weather the storm?
