So the £1 cheque has to be a cheque from your own bank account? I couldnt get my mil to write me a cheque? Tia.

In the past they have done some better offers than this, i.e via refer a friend, so it might be worth holding out given that you can only be a new customer once.

The site appears to have stopped processing new applications. Possibly due to high demand. I hope it works again in the morning!

Yep, just tried to open another account for someone else, and got the same 'function is currently not available'message...damn it, too slow! :-(
