What a bunch of hypocrites.
As a FTBer, I've seen my savings whittled away year after year by rampant house price increases.
Homebuyers have been feeling very smug about it all. This is what a massive price increase feels like.
Get used to it. With North Sea gas running out, we're going to be experiencing a "boom" in prices for many more years.
It's a boom - enjoy it. Boom, boom!0 -
FTB's need extra guidance but they should get the same service as everyone else.lisyloo wrote:These companies are not doing this to make masses of money.
But this is the point they are. Even with the increased cost of the raw materials they are still making huge profits. This is wrong.
Fine if they make big profits and this is all reinvested in sustainable sources and research but its not. It goes to make shareholders and directors richer.0 -

Imagine what it's going to be like when billions of people in India and China want the same lifestyle that we have.
It is unfortunately inevitable that energy prices are going to rocket unless we get our act together with other sources.
One thing to remember here. The main reason for high energy consumption is heating and drying. I lived in Africa for several years and paid nothing for heating, nothing to dry clothes.
Just some power for lights, enertainment systems and a washing machine.
When global warming sets in we should pay less to heat our homes...... :silenced:NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
I think EVERYONE in the whole country should switch away from these bunch of crooks.
There was a report on BBC news yesterday that British consumers have been swindled out of ONE BILLION POUNDS over the fiddling of wholesale prices and gas being deliberately held back to force up the price.0 -
Who are you going to switch to? They are all going up!NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0

Hot off the press:
British Gas will be launching a new Price Protection 2009 offer which will allow customers to fix their prices for three winters.
I have no details on this at this time. It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0 -

Erm if you've been priced out of buying wouldn't your savings be going up as renting is cheaper than buying remember?0 -
