Do Sky ever remove dishes?

I've had Sky for something over a year now and am thinking of swapping for Freesat. If I cancel with Sky would they remove my dish or will it stay (saving me the cost of Freesat installation)?

they won't remove it, it's yours. Just plug your freesat in and you'll be fine.

The dish is yours. Sky will not take it away. You can use it for freesat and you won't even need to realign it.

Edit: Gah! Tigert you beat me.

No. You can use it for freesat when your contract is up.

Its another problem for them if they start removing dishes after you cancelled. They leave it for you to decorate your wall.

A freesat receiver uses the same dish and lnb/able as sky no need for changing anything but the receiver

If you opt for the Humax HDR you will need a twin/quad lnb and twin cable to able to maximise the receiver. If its not a pvr receiver as mentioned you only need a single lnb, thats the bit on the end of the dish

Don't forget that your existing Sky receiver will revert to a Sky Freesat box once the card is cancelled, albeit without the HD channels.

So unless you're getting Freesat for the HD channels, then don't waste your money.
