Went into Boots yesterday to use a 10 pound gift token. Managed to pick up savings/points/free vouchers worth £12.47

    - 3 packs of tights for the price of two. Total saving: £5

    - 47 points + 200 extra points using voucher for purchases of 10 pounds or over. Points value: £2.47

    - Received free £5 skincare voucher (which I'll use on products that are 50% off in the sale).

Not a bad result, considering that the gift voucher was a present and thus 'free'!

How did you manage to get a 200 points voucher. What store were you in. I spent £11, but the branch I was in did not have a points machine.

Before everyone thinks I'm a complete pig, it's my little boy who makes sure that there's a lifetime supply of Cheerios inside the sofa ::) Am very impressed with the beetroot story, BTW! :)
  • Yes, how did you get a voucher for points when you only spent a tenner? Was it a machine coupon or a mailed-out one? I know they usually send out coupons in January, as the last double-points mailed-out coupon ran out on xmas eve, but last year the coupons were for rubbish i wouldnt buy anyway. our machine never gives out a total spend for anything less than £25, in fact most times at the Eastgate Centre Inverness one i can easily walk to its for over £30, whereas the pain-in-the-neck to get to Reatil Park branch usually only requires £25+ which is annoying.

the skincare vouchers will probably be binned or given away to people on the lush forum. i cant use facial wash, facial wipes or cleanser anymore - in fact i tried to swap mine on the lush forum but nobody wanted them, so i cant buy all that from no.7 anywmore and my ethics stop me from purchasing ROC, OLAY and L'Oreal and i dont need the anti-ageing Time Dealy from boots. i so wish these thigns wouldnt be so narrow and concentrated on anti-aging stuff i mean us younger folk, im only 27 for crying out loud, what are we supposed to do with them? sigh.

you cant use them on your skin the no 7 wipes are fab for getting makup stains off carpets, clothes etc.. they are also good for removing food marks - I have young children so have proof!!

  • i dont seem to be able to use ANY of that sort of thing. my sister took my NO.7 ones but i have fragrance free and clearasil wipes still in me trunk, origins cleanser and face mask, almay facial scrub, neutrogena cleanser and six tubes of no.7 facial wash. i just dont get on with anything like that and got so bad breakouts i had to put probably horrid pharmaceutical cream on my face to sort it out, now all i can do is wash my face with a cloth and water then apply no.7 facial cream. very boring and dull routine, meanign i cant try and test and buy lots of stuff, but im afraid thats the only way my face will behave. my mum used to blame it on shampoo stuff i bought from a shop called Lush, but that had nothing to do with it, yet we used to keep arguign and fighting about it, lol.

i have been using my hubbies card for ages, never thought i needed one myself til i read on here that some people got better offers on other halfs card than on their own so i applied for one and i got a voucher for 200 points when i spend £10 with it, so may be worth getting your 'other half' a card?? ;)
  • This offer is maybe only for newcomers, then?

Had fun in Boots yesterday. Was trying to top up my mobile, but there was something wrong with the card so the top-up failed, twice. Got 80 free points (not much, I know, but better than nothing) plus, more importantly, 2 skincare vouchers! ;D ;D ;D Wish my top-up card had problems more often! :o

Have to agree regarding the £5 skincare vouchers that they should cater more for younger skin. Didn't they use to include Botanics as well at some point? ???
