Hi, we have just booked a holiday in july to Egypt, for four of us, two couples, all inclusive, in Hurghada. Just wanted to know if anyone has been before?

Not been there but was in Cairo/Giza 2 weeks ago. Very interesting.
Try the Sakarah beer as the Stella (not the Belgian, but an Egyption beer) is not that good.
I've heard it will be HOT in july

it says 40 degrees average.. will be nice to be hot after the miserable winter!!
just wandering what to do / avoid, how much do things cost over there? im sooo excited!!0 -
A friend of mine went to Egypt for new year.(Not sure where in Egypt though) She loved it and wants to go again. Only thing she said was very annoying was when they were walking in the towns/villages around the shops, all the shopkeepers were hassling them to go into their shops, and if they give you a business card once in their shop DON'T take it. If you don't buy from their shop you have to pay for the business card. I think she said things are pretty cheap over there too, if you don't mind haggling that is

sounds like Turkey!! we went there last year and was a bit of a shock how they think we are all rich (spose in comparison we might be, )but they had 2 menus, one for English one for Turkish everywhere ; was a bit annoying really.0

Most things are cheap. Eating out is really cheap ~£4 (GBP) for a main course. Beer was a little more expensive in Cairo ~£2 a can.
Taxi's are cheap as are some entertainment things (I went to the cairo zoo and it was the equivilant of 2.5p (seriously!). But you do get charged for other things at some places like still and video cameras.
You might get some hassle with people trying to sell you stuff but they go away once they see you're not interested.
Have fun

Went to Dahab last year for a diving holiday. Had the best time. Good weather, cheap food, very easy going. Loved it, would go again without any problems."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0

I saw them. They are actually right on the edge of Cairo city (I was expecting them to be in the middle of the desert but they are next to a golf course!). Really good seeing them though.emma_b wrote:Where in Egypt did you go? did you see the pyramids?0 -
