hi mirrorimage, welcome to the April club! I hope things are going well for you and your partner. Not hearing from the OR could be good really, but if you are feeling like it is worrying you both, you could just give them a quick call just to check there is nothing that you should be doing or need to do. set your mind at rest as it where.

  • Hi Donna,

Thanks for the welcome to the club - I/we feel very honoured to be a member! I think/hope the OR is just snowed under at the moment, hence things are rather quiet. Despite being declared BR in early April the report has only just gone out and we've just got over the hurdle of having the basic bank account frozen and unfrozen.

Jennie - can totally sympathise with you. It only seems to be the last ten days that the nasty letters have died off.

sshhh not sure I should say this too loud, but the calls have stopped - I believe.

The only irritation now is not being able to have online banking, I can have a bank account(barclays) with debit card, direct debits, standing orders, I can have phone banking(if i want to talk to someone in India whose command of english is a little frustrating). I can pay money in take money out, but I am not allowed to look at my money.

If anyone knows why barclays insist on this one restricltion I would love to know as it seems very petty to me. I never know the state of my account, I am constantly going to cash point to check balance and get a mini statement, but they are not very helpful as dont give details just amounts. Phone banking is just pointless to me, I want to see my transactions not have some indian chappy reeling it off at great speed in an accent which is difficult to understand.

Oops ranting a bit there.

But tis very frustrating not to be able to check when stuff is due out or in and if payments have cleared etc. I know we coped before online banking but am so used to having it i really miss it.

Hi jennie, probably already been mentioned to you but have you tried the coop account, I wouldn't be without my internet banking either which is great because they let you access it. Have no idea why barclays don't make this an option for their account, I can imagine it is very frustrating! Rant's allowed! ;):D

134 days since filing for BR, 230 days until AD. Not that I'm obsessed or anything! Hope the April BR Club members are all doing alright.

I'm an April person too but my BR was April 2008 so I will be 5 months discharged on Friday. Yes, time does seem to fly by.
