reading it again maybe i could have phrased it differently, and i take that on board

that said, your latest post suggest you actually agree with me that it's an unfair issue, but that you're saying it's not much of a big deal? fair enough that's your opinion. i personally feel that if you're a young driver paying say an extra 10% a year due to speeding points on a £1000 premium then i can see why some people would consider it more of a deal.

Also i wouldn't be surprised if we don't really have an advantage when we're in other countries a s alot of them don't have such sophisticated insurance markets and systems, and don't have a "points on license system" for us to benefit from.

i love the way eurpope is now too so I'll leave it go now!

i think it reflects badly on MSE that such a post is allowed to stay:mad:
In which case quoting it was a pretty dumb move.
  • i totally agree with this alternative and think this is what the countries across Europe should be aiming for. If nothing else it can only have a positive effect on road safety and potentially reduce deaths and injuries that happen all too often.

I can't see any reason why one could validly complain at getting points on your license if you break the driving laws of the country within which one is driving

I don't think it could work right now, to be honest. The police in Poland aren't entirely free of corruption like their counterparts in the West, and I would be hesitant to trust the police in many southern European countries. For instance, I imagine a 200 EUR bribe could still work here, whereas the mere suggestion in Germany would probably involve a lengthy jail sentence.

    Talking nonsense again, are we?

Most Eastern European countries have actually a more sophisticated system than the UK. But I hardly expect someone with your idiotic xenophobic views to understand this, or even to bother to research it.
    From Poland...with love.

    They are (they're)
    sitting on the floor.
    Their
books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.

isn't it contradictory to say on one hand that the eastern euro countries are more sophisticated, then on the other say they're riddled with corruption?

i doubt quoting it made any difference. it had been there untouched since 8am this morning so not sure what point you're making?

    My point was that drawing attention to it by quoting was an exercise in futility. Had the post been subsequently deleted your post quoting it would either;

    a) have remained, rendering its deletion obsolete or
    b) also been deleted, rendering your moan utterly utterly pointless.

    Grow a backbone, son.

one day someone might accuse you of being a racist - yes you can ignore it and rise above it, but at the same time i had a point to make so i made it.

If you carry on like this you won't remain as my fav poster on MSE for long
