I would have, but I thought I may have won that category myself which may would have been embarrassing!! (as the vet says 'she is a big dog on little legs' - she is like a collie sawn off at the knees!) I cannot criticise - I am a big girl on little legs! lol
"shortest legs - excuse me madam, do you mean yourself or the dog?"
lol
My mum very enthusiastically joined the "best six legs" with her lurcher - and was really crestfallen that they didnt get selected!! If it was skinniest six legs they may have been in with a chance! lol (sorry mum!)
I won't ever forget when I lived & worked at the Stables/Kennels. We had a Chihuahua in, not boarding but for rehoming & my boss who was 21 owned what her Mum (Who ran the Kennels) told her was a Chihuahua. (It had been a Rescue also).
Anyway, Chihuahua Rescue held a show in the village & her Mum suggested we take Chilli (My boss's Dog) & the Chi needing a home as someone there may want him. Anyways, she won her class & the judge whispered to her that she didn't think it was a Chihuahua dear but a Papillon lol to which Tara replies If Chilli wants to be a Chihuahua she can be a Chihuahua!
Kinda messed her name up cause she was called Chilli as Chi's are from Mexico as are chillis, both began with C & she liked the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
I'd've died of embarassment entering a Pap in a Chi show & not realising!0 -
oh dear!! poor girl
how embarrasing!! I bet she never lived it down :-)

Will people never learn? Leave the breeding up to the experienced breeders.0

I use the word should as even well known geneticists like Malcolm Willis will tell you that there are many, many factors involved . And no matter how careful you are, sometimes Mother Nature can trip you up.
By the way, those of you who are going to Crufts - what days will you be there? Maybe we could have a MSE Crufts meet up :rotfl: :rotfl: (after the judging, of course):D
PS: No, I don't own (or ever have owned) Border Collies!!
Thank you for the info, it was 35 years ago - perhaps it was wishful thinking on the vets part.Doing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me0
