Having brought this not long after it came out ... I am feeling most upset I don't have a case to keep mine in
It's still in the monsterous box in the corner taking up shedloads of space. Can you get them by themselves?

I haven't seen them in the shop but you might be able to order them. It's worth asking.
I managed to get parts from Mothercare for a damaged cot by asking. Even though the service isn't advertised it's available. Might be the same for Boots.0 -
Im just wandering if anyone has had experience with a replacement handset as yet?
I bought the machine for my Girlfriend last yr and in the summer we had to get the headset replaced as the lights had come on on the machine saying it had fired 10000 times. She had had about 7 or 8 sessions, doing legs and bikini area, and i had used it on my neck and shoulders and beard. Unfortunatly she is not able to use it every week so this went on over a few months not weeks.
As the replacement handsets were not in stock we had out current one refurbished.
We were not able to use it for a few months due to holiday and having a tan but just before Xmas she started using it again , we had thought that the replacement handset would have been enough to complete the 12 sessions, however yesterday the lights came on again saying it had fired 10000 times.
She has only managed to get about 3 or 4 sessions if that this time round. and I have not used it at all.
So today vie had to buy a new handset, meaning in order to complete the 12 sessions we've had to buy the machine and the refurb handset another £99.00 and a new handset today at £160.
The unit says 10000 is enough to complete the 12 sessions on a normal person however i would disagree.
Has anyone else had a similar problem.
Neither of us are particullary large, i weigh 11 stone and my gf about 10 stone.0 -
I also bought it and was so excited to start so didn’t even read all instructions.
I was on the first day of my period and I did my first treatment .After completing the treatment I realised that it’s not recommended during periods.
My period was really heavy and I am just wondering if anyone has experienced the same. I was even planning to go hospital as I have to change pads every hour.0 -

I don't think you need to worry. I believe the only reason it's not recommend as you'll be extra sensitive to pain during that time.0 -
hi all (mostly girls I think??)
Ok, I am a MALE of INDIAN origin, medium skin colour, not very dark, however have fairly dark body hair. I do have an exceptional amount of body hair and have had 2/3 sessions of laser hair removal in a salon some years back. This cost me a few thousand pounds and didn't do a great deal for me (perhaps because I didn't keep it up regularly?).
So now I'm looking into a home kit - with the Boots smooth skin, my concern is that to cover the entire upper body (back, chest, shoulders, stomach, full arms) how many flashes would one full treatment take? I imagine 1000 or so maybe more? The life span of this product is only 10,000 flashes so I am likely to require a new bulb costing around £160 again?
Are there any guys on here who can give me their advice/experiences as to if this is the best one to use at home or is there another product that perhaps can do the job faster (I don't really want to have to wait 6 seconds before the next flash, I will be there for 8 hours doing my whole upper body this way?!)
thanks
Hi Jambo,
I don't know about other products, but I use this system on only the pubic areas. It takes long enough doing that, and it starts to heat up quite a lot as it is. TBH, I think that if I were embarking on the project you mention, I would invest in at least two or three machines, and use them together.
This way, you won't have to wait as long between the 6 second waits, as well as waiting for the machine to cool down.
I'd also use it as an opportunity to try out another machine, as opposed to having 2-3 identical ones only. There's one mentioned earlier in this thread, which is a higher powered beastie (The Boots one is only 7-10J, but the other one is up to 20 J, I think), but I've forgotten its name.0 -
I have my one over year now.
I use it for my chests but it takes a long time.
I am happy with the results i have less hair now.
I wish it was quicker.
By the way i found quite useful website about hair removal with reviews and forums https://www.hairgoodbye.co.uk , looks like is a new website0 -
I bought the product nearly 4 months ago. I have fair to medium Celtic type skin with darkish hair. I used it mostly on the face area, under the chin and sides of face where the hair was quite dark. I'd been waxing and plucking for many years and to say the least, it got me down. At first for the first few weeks I didnt really notice any difference. I was wondering if the product just didn't work for me. However after 3 months, and I would say it pretty much exactly 3 months, I noticed a huge difference. The hair seems to have stopped altogether! Going from being quite disheartened to realising it DOES actually work is amazing. There are only one or 2 small rogue hairs which I continue to treat, but Im very confident they will be gone. I also had hairs down the belly button area, and on the feet! They took far less treatments to cure, and theyre now entirely gone.
I would say only use it every week to 10 days, because any more frequent will not be as effective due to hair growth cycles. I stuck to that religiously and I'm over the moon with the results. I started off with the 'medium' setting, then tried 'fair', and I seem to have no problems with the fair setting. But be warned, 'Fair setting' is not for everyone aparently!
I work in a profession that deals with the public in close proximity on a daily basis, and I have had this problem for about 15 years, and it zaps your confidence. But now, I definitely have no more problems, and can now wear my hair up! ***** Five stars0 -

For those of you who use it on the face, how do you shield your eyes from the very bright flash, please?
No matter how I try to tilt my head, shield my eyes, etc, I still see a bright red flash come through, seemingly through the skin!0
