hi again,
thanks for the replies to my earlier post. I have had a think, and tbh the Smooth Skin will take forever and I'll need a lot of help doing the treatment. So I have found out about a lady who has a home Salon and has a Lynton Luminette Advance salon professional machine. This one would be much quicker and has 40j/cm2 power, 4 times that of Smooth Skin! So i'll go have a chat with her and get a quote, her prices are pretty good...I think the entire upper body would be covered in about £2000 for 6 treatments. Obviously a lot more than the Boots machine would cost, but it might worth it....i'll keep you all posted.0 -

No matter how I try to tilt my head, shield my eyes, etc, I still see a bright red flash come through, seemingly through the skin!
Close your eyes just before you press the button. In the salon I use to still see the red flash even with thick blacked-out glasses on.Whether we win or lose, that we played at all was a winning decision.2011 wins £12,2922012 wins ...Thank you to all who post on here!!!! :A0 -
Thank you very much. It helps to know that it's not just me doing something wrong.
I always close my eyes, and even got some tanning goggles to protect my eyes, but still see the red light, and was wondering if there was a trick I'd missed!0 -
I bought this product today and got £50 dicount on line when i used the code BSKN55. This offer expires on 03 May 2011 :j
This should take the sting out of the price tag a little! I will report soon how im getting on!0 -
I think I need to buy a new head unit as all the lights have all come on meaning 10,000 shots have been fired. I'm going on holiday soon, eeeek!
Does anyone know how long the £99 refurbish head unit takes to arrive? I can't afford to pay £160 atm for a new one.Whether we win or lose, that we played at all was a winning decision.2011 wins £12,2922012 wins ...Thank you to all who post on here!!!! :A0 -
I got one of these from Boots when there was the £50.00 off deal. I am able to compare it with professional salon laser treatment as in the past I had it done on my face, with very good results, (However not as longlasting as we are often led to believe, top up treatments were required after one year) Of course the big down side of my salon treatment was the price, I could never afford to get my legs treated in the salon as 6 treatments would be needed at a cost of 300.00 per treatment !
I was very sceptical about this purchase as the boots machine is so small, and the salon one is so large, however I took a gamble and have been amazed at the results.
Ok so this machine is not as powerful as a salon one, and the do it your self method has a few niggles, the head is very small, so doing your legs takes time and every so often it goes into cool down mode, so you have to sit and wait for it to be ready for use again, However the advantages are huge!
I am a pale skinned person who has SUFFERED with dark thick hair, all my life. I have been too shy to show off my legs because of their baboon like qualities, my arm hair was also verging on the manley and I was generally very self concious about being hairy. I made sure I set aside a couple of hours each week to carry out the treatment, usually turning on the TV to relieve the tedious nature of the zapping. After 5 uses on my arms there has been a 90% improvement. After 10 uses on my legs an 80% improvement. Even my partner has commented on my lovely legs ! They are not totally hair free, but remaining hair is scant, softer and lighter. For the first time in 20 years I am enjoying wearing short summer dresses , Hooray ! The machine has also been very effective in the Bikini line area so I no longer have to worry about wearing a swimming cozzie. For me it was worth every penny, even if I have to do top up treatments every few months. If my machine packed up I would buy another one without hesitation. I just feel so much happier and feminine now. If I ran a Laser clinic I would be worried, these machines make long lasting hair removal private and affordable .0 -
Looks like there is now a "smooth skin PLUS" just been released. More expensive and checking the manual it has exactly the same strength laser as the previous version.
It claims to reduce treatment time by up to 30%.0 -

Buy it this weekend and its gonna be 3490 points (£34.90) on your points card. I see it still needs the gel but wondered what size the treatment area is. Yea I was wondering if it was any bigger on that front. Must be if lady in the blog did both legs in 30mins. Takes me 30 mins alone nearly do one! And thats 1/2 a one ...0
