I've been reading this thread for ages and I finally got my smooth skin just before Christmas. I've just completed my 4th treatment on my lower legs. I used the fair setting on the 1st treatment but had quite sore legs so I switched to the medium setting which has caused me no problems at all.
I noticed a difference after the 3rd treatment. Nothing dramatic, but some small bald patches and much slower growth. I needed to shave daily and I now only shave twice a week, I'm happy with the results so far.
The initial outlay is a lot but I'm saving a fair bit on shaving gel and razors. Hopefullly once the 12 treatments have been completed the shaving will be a thing of the past for a good few months.0 -
Oh I so need to get back to this! I haven't completed a treatment in 3 months.
Underarms: Waste of time and pain! It's all come back ... Whilst it did reduce it by about 50% or so.
Chin and Neck: Still pleased with results. Massive improvement. Still some hairs coming that I just pluck. Not every day though roughly once or twice a week. Easy to handle ... Neck side there are some more longer darker but not the telegraph poles, at the bottom of my neck might start attacking them.
Nipples: A few have appeared so need to attack this area again.
Tummy: All come back so need to do this again too.
Bikini: All come back so need to do this again too.
It seems the best results are on the area for me that was the worse on my chin and neck. As this is what I primarily brought it for im chuffed!0 -
I used this last year on my upper thighs & bikini line (anywhere else was too painful). I had to do about 12 sessons, but it worked. My skin is very pale and body hair dark (how attreactive!) It worked very well, didn't notice too much at the beginning, but here I am some months later and the hair has mostly not come back - I'd definitely recommend it0

What do you do if a couple of days after the treatment the hairs haven't all fallen out but you want to wear a sleeveless top, is it ok to shave? Also how quickly does the hair grow back?
Thanks!

I don't know if anyone's already answered this question, but I too was concerned about the fake tan issue with this product. I've actually emailed Boots twice with the question -as already own the product but have been too scared to use it-with no response. The thing is, i was planning on doing the same as i completely remove my fake tan after 6 days and re-do, BUT on the instructions it states not to use if you've used fake tan within the last 30 days!! Does anyone know why this is? Surely i can use it inbetween applications, and if this is the case- is it ok to then use fake tan AFTER i have used this?! Please help!!0 -

Hi Embo11, I am a representive at iPulse, the company that makes Boots Smooth Skin. To help you with your question, it is always advisable to wait 30 days after using fake tan before using Boots Smooth Skin, as these tanning products contain ingredients that mimic melanin (tan) in the skin.
Although the skin may look clear when you have started to exfoliate, it may well retain some of the product that is not necessarily apparent and because you are using the system on a weekly basis, it would be difficult to ensure that the skin did not have any residue product that could cause an adverse reaction.
Can I suggest that you consider using temporary fake tan that simply washes off, just for the period of your process of removing unwanted hair with Boots Smooth Skin. Remember that you will only need between six and twelve treatments of Boots Smooth Skin for most areas and once you have achieved the results you want, you can tan with confidence - nice smooth brown legs for the spring - how brilliant! Hope this helps0 -
quick update. After treatment 6 there is more bald patches and the hair growth is very slow. I use to shave in the morning and would have visible stubble growth by the evening. Now it is only visible after 5 days. I'm now only shaving between treatments if I'm going out and wearing a skirt and sheer tights although it's more because I can feel the re-growth rather than anyone being able to see it. A huge improvement. I would be happy if the treatment ended now but I'm only halfway through. In my opinion defiantly worth the initial outlay0

hi all (mostly girls I think??)
Ok, I am a MALE of INDIAN origin, medium skin colour, not very dark, however have fairly dark body hair. I do have an exceptional amount of body hair and have had 2/3 sessions of laser hair removal in a salon some years back. This cost me a few thousand pounds and didn't do a great deal for me (perhaps because I didn't keep it up regularly?).
So now I'm looking into a home kit - with the Boots smooth skin, my concern is that to cover the entire upper body (back, chest, shoulders, stomach, full arms) how many flashes would one full treatment take? I imagine 1000 or so maybe more? The life span of this product is only 10,000 flashes so I am likely to require a new bulb costing around £160 again?
Are there any guys on here who can give me their advice/experiences as to if this is the best one to use at home or is there another product that perhaps can do the job faster (I don't really want to have to wait 6 seconds before the next flash, I will be there for 8 hours doing my whole upper body this way?!)
thanks0 -
I would say you would need the patience of a saint!! I can't even sit 1-2 hours doing my legs never mind a whole body.0
