After my experience with E7even I would never pay for 1 year upfront again no matter how cheap it is.
Can you get Telewest or NTL? Their services are uncapped & for my friends who have broadband with them they are very happy with it.
Other than that then I would suggest using adslguide to find some ISPs in your price range then use their "compare" webpage to list the average user speeds that people get:
Search your price range: http://www.adslguide.org.uk/isps/search.asp?type=advanced
To compare speeds: http://www.adslguide.org.uk/isps/compare.asp0 -
ukonline are terrible, I am stuck with them throttling my main ports for another 10 months.
If anyone knows how to get out of their contract, let me know.
I know it's a contract but I had no idea they would throttle my 2MB connection down to 300kbps - I may aswell get 512 connection.0 -
skiduck
How do you know they are throttling your ports, I dont seem to have a problem with them on port 4662-4672, only ebay was playing up.0 -
because they say in their little FAQ's after you sign up, not very clear before sign up
http://support.ukonline.net/support_faqdetail.asp?location=ukonlinebroadband&id=551
they also disallow webservers, so pretty useless if you want to have a website that actually does anything from your pc.0
