NPower Annual Assment Bill

Just had a new DD reassement come through, the DD had gone down from £95.00pm to £82.00pm :j

However, I noticed the reading was estimated, so I called NPower, gave an up to date reading and was informed a new DD schedule would be issued.

The new DD schedule arrived, increasing our payments from what was £95.00pm to £109.00pm

In the 6 years we've been in this property our reassment payments have been like a yoyo, even though 9/10 times it based on an actual reading.

Overall all, as we're all electric our consumption has not increased year on year.

I'm flippin livid

Calculate how may kwh you've used this year and multiply by the unit cost, including VAT, on your tariff. Apply discounts if you want to be even more precise. Divide by 12 - is it closer to £82 or £109?

If closer to £82, run through the figures with npower. Keep track of usage and price changes to avoid building up a debt.

Or have a look and see if there's a better deal out there. Loyalty is not rewarded like it used to be - on the contrary, you are normally punished for loyalty these days. 6 years with ANY company is probably 5 years too many these days, lol.

Heard various horror stories about switching, which is one reason we've stayed with the same company.

Not sure how to work out who is actually the cheapest, however, thanks for your advise.

    Why do it then? :confused::confused:

This is not a spelling exam it's a money saving site, 2 posters offered help and advice, pity you don't have the capability to offer the same.

OK, I see that it looks complicated if you're not sure about these things but, really, how can you be livid about your DD changing if you don't know what it should be?

Bit of maths needed, that's all!

Edit: Also, to find out the best deal when switching, you need to use annual kwh used on the comparison sites.

I've switched many many times and never had a problem. I'm sure the energy companies love it when people are put off switching by hearing about the odd problem. Suffice to say, if you read the npower gas sculpting thread on here it's entirely possible to have a horrendous time staying with the same company for years.

If you need help in working out which are the cheapest suppliers, by all means ask for help!

It depends on which electricity supply area you are in, whether you have economy 7 electric, and how many kwhs of gas and electricity you use per year.

I've saved loads of money by switching, and I had most of my problems with my first supplier before I switched. Everything after that's been easy by comparison! I'd highly recommend looking into it!

    Hi annie

Thanks for the offer of help, which if I may, I'll take you up on.

We're all electric, no gas - no e7 - npower

I called and checked, our consumption for a 12 month period 9535 kwhs.

At present, we have an O/S balance £142.00, making our monthly payments £109.00, however, if we paid the balance then the payments would reduce to £97.00

I'd be very grateful if anyone could assist in working if we'd be better of changing suppliers please?
