how do you tactfully tell someone that you cant do anymore for them???? Physically or mentally!!!
im going to go mad!! ..I want to cut off all ties. how do I do this in a nice way, so that I dont hurt the little girl?? I really cant cope with this!!!

She sounds like a "toxic" friend, and I feel for your situation. I "had it out" with a friend of mine whilst we were on holiday together. She too kept on leaving her children with me - not even asking, just disappearing! She asked me for help as to why they were out of control. After one solid week of this, I caved in and told her. I was concerned at her levels of stress due to lack of discipline, as I care for her very much. We didn't speak for 6 months. She subsequently phoned and apologised for putting me through it, and we are slowly getting back on track, but things will never be the same again.

I completely sympathise with your difficulty, loyalty to the whole family, your friend and the children. However, the situation appears to be of her making, but she has made the problem yours, not hers, which seems very unfair. You really must take care of yourself too. Unfortunately, how you choose to handle it, only you can decide.

    Big hugs and kind thoughts.....

:TThanks Toots, my mommy is the ultimate flylady. The house is perfect. The bane of HER life is my room!! God help me when I have more than one room to sort out! ye gods! Looking forward to it :rotfl:

Mumoffour77 - a great friend of mine was dumped, then everything she used to take out on her poor OH, got taken out on me. At first I put it down to her being upset etc. but 8 months later (it was a 12 month relationship!!) she was still being absolutely awful to me, I didn't want to pick up the phone when she called, nor see her as I got to the stage where I couldn't cope with the remarks (because my life was going OK, it was my fault that she had to pay council tax :rolleyes:, my fault she moved to a different part of the country  (she got a job there because she loves it there !) and basically everytime I went round, anything I said or did I just got sniped at.) I just snapped basically and decided enough was enough and if I never saw her again it would be too soon. Haven't spoken to her in almost 15 months and I don't miss it at all. I'm usually the first to try and sort out niggles with friends, as I believe in 'lifes too short' but this person was unreasonable, and life was too short for me to be answering her toxic phonecalls and putting up with her abusivness! Best thing I ever did! :T Bin the toxic friend!

edit: just realised there is a kiddie involved too, and re-read your post properly. i agree with the others, say you dont want to know about it. dont think the little girl will notice too much if you dont have her over as often?

    I feel so put upon!!
Friend, always asking could i pick up her DD from school, no prob, but to leave the child who is 11 at home on her own until 5 I cannot do!!, so i usually take her to my house, get her h/w done ect....now im getting calls at 8am greeting me with you lazy bi**h are you only up?? listen I need a favour can you lift my DD and take her to school!!! firstly im in shock I know i am!! But this is a child, who is the youngest of 3!! Then im in tech and phone calls and texts are coming through asking can i keep a secret!!!! the 'friend' is having an affair......I really cannot cope with this, I dont want to know anything about it, it causes too many problems as I know all 3 children and their dad.......Some people can just be so bloody wreckless with their kids lives:( ................................................I want to cut off all ties. how do I do this in a nice way, so that I dont hurt the little girl?? I really cant cope with this!!!

I know a woman who is completely toxic (in other ways not the way your one is) but I care very much for her children who in my opinion need the input of a slightly more stable person than their mum is! I've moved out of the same town now, so I write cheery letters to the kids and invite them over to my house (they are coming on Sunday I hope if thier mum doesn't pull out) but I try to keep my relationship with the mum as friendly but neutral as poss.

I think you should talk to her, say you don't want to know about her personal life and if she imposes it upon you anymore you will feel obliged to speak to her OH. Explain that you are happy to look after the girl (if you are) on Monday, Wednesday and Friday (or something) after school only, not before school and on the other days and before school she needs to make her own childcare arrangements. Then try to limit contact with her as much as poss, only getting in touch when it relates to the daughter.

Big hugs to Soappie and everyone else

Just been on to catch up, but going to bed shortly. Night all

Sneaks in to see who is about :shhh:

    Hello everyone

I've had a bit of a moment to myself at the moment so I thought I'd pop in and see how you all are. Sounds like alot of interesting things going on-and new faces too.
Mumoffour my heart goes out to you. I had a "toxic friend" earlier on in the year(you may remember),and I have to agree with ZCC-you need to look after yourself first. So sending good vibes your way until...
Nicki looks like your studying is going very well.
And I HAD to say hi to Toots:)
I've lost track of how many of you have been on FB recently so I thought I'd let you know that I have set up a blog ( a website is also in the making). I've saved the address in my profile and all my cakes have been finding their way there (as has my to do list recently). I thought it only right since they wouldn't be there but for you. I am now looking into an EH certificate(which is tricky as Im renting) and I have also just sent in tax registration forms-all thanks to the flyladies:)
