Evening! Not made it to football as I was late leaving work and then got stuck in traffic courtesy of an accident as well as the extra footie traffic!! Once I got home, I couldn't face going out again in the howling wind and rain! Instead I degunged the fridge and wiped the large appliances whilst dinner was cooking and I'm now going to catch up with the thread ........

We've done the unpacking but still need to tidy up, finish decorating & buy furniture.
Today I've washed up, cleaned the washing-up bowl, hoovered the lounge, swept & mopped the hall, de-cluttered the lounge a bit, emptied bins, done laundry & errands. my aims for tomorroe are to check bins, laundry & dishes, do errands, wipe kitchen worktops, clean the loo & the bathroom sink & to wash the bedding in the spare room
Emily that's really good - well done you :T What decorating do you need to finish? Can you tackle it one room at a time?
Greenbee - I might just take you up on the Trading Places business proposal scenario!
Sent a text to DD to see'f she's got the keys. No response yet.
Checked the dog. The lump has changed. Again. Methinks I'll be off with her to the vets again v. soon

Hello all
Caught up on the thread at lunchtime though I didn't post as I hadn't flown at that point! Relatively productive day at work and a shorter journey is always a bonus! Dinner cooked and eaten, washing up left for DH who wants to do it so he feels like he's not leaving everything to me.
wm on with his running gear plus a bit more, all this running is producing a lot of laundry!!
emily and others- it definitely gets easier the longer you've been flying - it takes less and less time if you can keep on top of it mainly
soappie - sounds interesting! good luck with it.
greenbee - glad you have the new bed sorted and the old one has gone nice and quickly
kazwookie - I'd definitely focus on what you do know, ask other people (including your stepmother) and perhaps focus on his characteristics/hobbies rather than anecdotes. If you need any help do pm me if you like, i've done quite a lot of public speaking in different settings.

Also the cloakroom, so all the downstairs, yippee! I have to do the washing up in a minute, then I can crash out. Even though I was tired last night I slept really badly.
I've done almost all my Year 9 reports today, except for the class I share, and I did start, so my partner can do the rest. Tomorrow I'm doing a day's supply, so I'll do the main bedroom instead as that takes very little time.
Hugs to all in need! Especially soappie. It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
Evening all - dailies done (pots/wipedown in kitchen and wipedown in bathroom - why can boys miss the loo?)
And just spent half an hour composing acidic letter to financial instititution which will have 11 encs:eek:
How can they have the temerity to ask for 2 recent utility bills? I have NO recent utility bills as I have paperless online (and ignored TBH:o) billing.
Now off to TYPE the ^$%^%*& LETTER..
Higs to Lady Liberty and Diva - you're in my thoughts even when I'm not here ladies!

Thank you Honey Bear0 -
it's so nice walking around upstairs now ... almost no creaking noise

oh and i had a nice day without kids today with tv and computer (after all the cleaning of course! )
picked the kids up at 3pm and we went straight to a playdate (ds's friend) - they all had a ball altho rather tired!
dh was kind enough to pick us up in the car since it was raining when we were about to leave .. and he had dinner in (i've asked him nicely before i even left to pick the kids up) - so delegating is the cue word :T
Ideas folks please
My stepmother has asked I make a speech at my father's 75th birthday party next month, now the problem I have is I don't really know my father.
At 7 I got sent to boarding school
At 10 my parents got divorced,
My last contact with him was aged 10 until I was 38.
So now a few years on, I suppose I see him about twice a year or so, I am at a complete lost as to what to say, as I have 'no growing' up type tales or any thing similar.
Help what do I say
as others suggested ask around and talk to people who actually knew him better for stories or anectodes! and you could put it like ' a little bird told me ....' or 'i've read somewhere ....'
hex said it all really!! just write your own 'dailies list' (the things you'd do every day anyways and strike them off on here ... so you actually SEE what you have achieved! - then maybe a personal 'extra list' with one to do a day (for bigger jobs) - and maybe start off with level 1 of the general list on here! - glad the move made your life easier altho harder right after the move!emily_jackson wrote: »Hi,
