Bedroom de-gibbled - that was fun! Have gots lots now to car boot/e-bay/gumtree to be truly clear. Am I the only one with a dismantled beds under beds, and wardrobes in wardrobes? :rotfl:
Also, executive decision made. I am going to approach LEA re lecturing Law - I could cope with teaching GCSE/A-Level to mature students, that way can stick to less complex elements (and keep well away from Property Law!) so fingers crossed there. I will also enquire about Invigilating/Exam marking for other subjects to gain experience.
Flying certainly focuses the mind - my situation is the same today as it was yesterday, job or not.
Onwards, ever onwards.....am off to see friend now, and will come back to a lovely tidy home - and a fresh load of laundry to put on airer! I am soooo pleased that if I get an impromptu visitor, I won't need to hang my head in shame!
Thanks to all for the motivation and support - you are all amazing!
Hugs to all those in need:A FLY FIRST, KNIT LATER :A0 -
AnW'sMum big hugs for you and the little ones, thinking of you all x
ZCc72 sorry to hear about the job, hope you find something better soon
Pigpen of course you can borrow my very uncomfortable sofa, or you can maybe (if he likes you) borrow the futon in DS1s room. Sorry to hear about DS1s gf, poor girls been through so much hasn't she. Give her a big cuddle from me!! Oh and holibops, we're definately meeting up with DPs family on Easter Monday but rest of the 10 days I am pretty flexible for meet ups
Sunnygirl what a lovely idea x I have my Gran's letter rack we bought her because 'everything should have a place' was one of her favourite things, so we bought her it when her's broke when I was a little girl on holiday, when my grandparents passed away it came to me. It was always in her hall, it has a brass design so goes with nothing here but brings me a great comfort having it
g&b wohoooo!!! He's great live!
funfairprincess ((hugs))
Bit unsure what to think, I've been out all day (was great!) when I get home (after being called asking to pick up some paint stripper) DP had sanded more of LR and emptied DW? Wonder if he's had a woman in helping him :rotfl:
Speaking of which I best go feed him/the kids, back later xxOne day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
Way hey GnB!! Where abouts!! He is supposed to be fab live!! :T
Zcc72 - I find that too, thats what I love about this thread too - having said that I have been somewhat distracted this week or so - but I dont know how I managed my house before I had a specific list written for me to follow. :rotfl: I find lots of people on this thread a real inspiration.
I think because I am a single parent and successful professionally, I got to the point where I just want someone else to take the responsibility.......why does everything have to be my job ALL the time!!!!!! Anyone else ever feel like that??? Anyway, slipped into depression, fell behind with housework, then had a big car accident and was off work for weeks........and am only just getting back on top of things now.
I do struggle some days and I come on this thread and read people's stories who have things a lot tougher than I do - so I just get on with it. It kinda reminds you that you arent on your own even when you are (if that makes sense!!)
And when I dont feel like doing anything, there is always someone around to offer a hug, or a kindly word, or a boot up the backside when you need it!!
Hugs to all you flyladies, hope you all have a fab weekend.......will pop on at some point if I can clear off anymore of the list xxSometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying

Why is it that every time I go into that bathroom there is cardboard loo roll centres laying in the floor? I swear they eat the loo roll 4 rolls in 4 days and only 5 backsides in the house and most of them not here all the time:mad:
Valli please could I have a copy of your jam receipe. I took my FIL's crowns when he sold his house and split them so I hope for a bumper crop this year. I have a couple but the use ginger or rasps.I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -

I've also done about half of DD's room, but not enough to really earn a star - I just picked up everything on the floor, so that I could run the vacuum round. After that I lost interest...she's 16, she can do her own room!
Lovely sunshine here today. I spent a little time in the garden this morning, looking at the primroses, which are beautiful, crocus, snowdrops (almost over now) and the other bits and pieces that I have in flower. I didn't feel like going out to a garden centre, but have just got a Thompson and Morgan catalogue with a £5 voucher, so will do a little seed shopping this evening!
I've just been booked for an extra two days' supply next week, so I have no idea when I'm going to get the flying done!It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
DS1's GF had some terrible news yesterday. Her dad hanged himself.. on top of everything else she really needed this.. poor love.. she was bearing up last night but that might just have been shock..I am hoping to go back to Uni to retrain as an English Teacher BUT the system is daft....I have a Law Degree, but this is not "directly transferable", therefore I cannot do the PGCE, so the only option at my grand old age is to go back to Uni full time, and do a B.Ed, for which there are no grants.....
Or if you are looking for work, what about a CSW at the local hospital? it us usually bank work and you can pick and choose your hours to suit a uni position if you have to go that route, but is not always regular. I know they are training again in April and I think that is countrywide, so now would be a great time to apply.
Well, I tried catching up, did about 3 pages and keep getting sidetracked so it isn't going to happen. Will hopefully have Monday off so may get some work done then... DS is STILL doing his bedroom (8 days and counting... and still looking the same :rotfl: ) but hubby home now so he is actually doing something rather than moving something from one place to another and not actually putting it away.
I have tidied front room and kitchen, vacuumed through and had a quick clean around, lucky I did as we had a visitor, but wasn't too embarrassed. am really tired now so may have a HHS (half hour sleep) to rest my likkle brain... can hardly keep my eyes open... see you in a bit hopefully.
