Good morning everyone << hugs>> to everyone who needs them.

    MSE activities today:
    1) Frogging two jumpers bought at the Heart Foundation yesterday- they're made up of multi-stranded acrylic which feels like woolly laceweight, albeit a more fragile one.
    2) Filling the freezer so that that I don't have to do any major cooking for the next two weeks ,as OFSTED is looming (expected by the end of the month)
    3) Recycling the all of the papers, cans, etc that have accumulated.
    4) Logging more books on GreenMetropolis, hoping that someone will buy them.
5)Catching up with Old Harry's Game on Radio 4 iPlayer.
    Have a good day everyone

  • Morning everyone

Just about to start the ironing  All washing done, just need to do the bedding (and I don't iron that!!)

Dinner tonight will be roast chicken, roast potatoes, stuffing, veg and gravy.

Need to pop out and buy some crisps for DD's lunchbox and make something (maybe brownies or flapjacks).

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday, and Happy St David's Day to those who celebrate.

Thanks, Tru, for that. I shall take a good look at it. I haven't been keeping up with Grand Designs this series; the programme sounds fascinating.

Thanks, RedRuby and Sistercas - it's not a permanent move. We have had the house there for years, with the intention of moving into it permanently but I can't stand to leave the family behind so we are finishing off the renovating, selling some land that is attached to the house, then selling the house, buying a smaller holiday home there and another house here to live in! Sounds complicated and it is! The first thing I will do is sort out the internet connection - well, once the kettle is on!

DH is finding it very difficult to get work here at the moment, so the logical thing to do is sort out our assets in France. I will know this week the date we are moving so - watch this space!

Happy St David's Day, by the way!

Morning everyone - how are you all today?

A nice dry day here in the Hebrides, but I shouldn't really put my washing out, as it's not the done thing here on a Sunday :(

Had a good day yesterday and combined some studying with watching the 6 Nations games - neither were particularly good adverts for rugby, but at least Scotland won :) The Ireland v England match was particularly poor, lots of kicking, which is never entertaining for the crowd.

Had lentil soup for lunch and made chicken and spinach curry for dinner which we had with some rice and naan bread. Not sure what today's menu will bring yet. I'm still at the books and DH will be doing the ironing later on.

    Have a good day everyone!

    WHITE RABBITS!!! lol
Tru yes i saw it the other night. I thought it was going to look awful with all those tyres, but the finished product was fantastic. i loved the round room and round bed
Kathy how lovely to have a place in france and as you live down south I assume it doesnt take too long to get there. I think like you I would have difficulty in moving away permanently, you would miss your family so much. I think you will have the best of both worlds , good luck to you.

just realised i havent any pototoes for lunch, so will have to pop out for some, unless you can get them from costco

Morning All & Happy St Davids Day

Mioliere - sounds like you are going to have a mad time the next few weeks but boy will it be worth it - am jealous :D

So glad February is over - spring is coming! No sunshine here at the moment but it came later yesterday so am hoping for the same today. Didnt do as much as I wanted yesterday as took DS & his friend to a local swimming pool which is free at the moment and they swam for 3 hours. I kept myself occupied reading which was nice.

Today will be quite a relaxed Sunday, have M&S £10 meal for lunch - chicken, some stuffing then pofiteroles (sp) for dessert. Need to make bread for tea and packed lunches and do some baking. Have also to finish the ironing pile but that wont take long.

The remoska will be used today - try and use it as much as possible but its just the best for chicken.

Need to go and shower, have a lovely day.

    Morning all
Stef, there is a loo and a cafe at the Mapledurham Lock, but the best place for a cuppa is my house & I have 3 loo's take your pick. Are you doing the Thames Path? If you're going to be this way again you are welcome to pop in.
Yesterday we went to see a friend of hubby's, I hate the journey along the M25, too many people driving too fast with no idea where they are going until it's too late, this makes me sound like some doddery old f*rt driving at 30mph, but I was doing 70.
Anyway, on to something OS, 2 loads of washing on the line, 2 loads from yesterday all dried & folded. Hubby has finished decorating the front bedroom so we may move into it tonight so he can decorate ours next.
The garden is quite exciting at the moment, my DD gave me loads of pots, some with plants in when she cleared the garden in her house, I'm waiting to see what is in them. Also hubby has got the raised bed all prepped ready for this year's veggies. Also I have started sprouting seeds & beans to eat with salad.
    Breakfast - porridge
    Lunch - egg on toast
    Dinner - roast lamb
    Have a good day everyone
    Hugs Hester

    I've been Money Tipped!
Trazy - Good luck with the money saving. I once tried the grocery challenge, but failed desperately. I have found mysupermarket.com and deliveries have saved me a fortune. Not to mention the suggestions from the lovely people on here.

I have been given a carrier bag of jerusalem artichokes. I was going to post and say, 'what do I do with these!' but I have found a soup recipe that involves roasted garlic. If it works out I shall post the recipe.

Squiggly Diddly - you asked about the carrot and mint soup. It was from on here somewhere but I can't find it again :o but was one and a half pound of carrots and a medium onion softened in one ounce of butter then one pint of milk and one pint of veg stock were added and it was simmered until the veggies were soft and then pureed. Then you added two tablespoons of mint sauce and a dash of worcester sauce. Dear heart thought it fantastic.

In Search of Me - Bora Da! (my only bit of Welsh!) Bacon and marmalade? Actually I have seen a recipe for a bacon joint glazed with marmalade so I bet it tastes scrummy.

Today - absolutely no idea what is happening. Little bear's room could do with a thorough clean and declutter. My brother and his friend came up bringing the jerusalem artichokes and a bin sack of toys from various people back home. We have to lose some of them. And of all the toys he played with - a piece of soap from a wash mitt. Fortunately yesterday he was too tired to cause much chaos, but today he has woken up all refreshed and I am still catching up  If I actually get anything done, I will post in triumph.
