Another spend for me:
Milk £1.40
Bread £1.40
Eggs £1.09
Total £3.890 -
Hi all, still haven't sorted my last big shop of the month, so will probably get a delivery for Mondayish. I'm going to include the total cost in March though, as I had done a big shop just before I started my March budget.
I'm going for £225 for my April budget (calendar month) - thanks Mrs M! Was going to drop it to £200 as I'm off on a course for 7 days, so work will be paying for my meals, but OH will be home alone fending for himself so I have a feeling it may be an expensive month!
I'm hoping to gradually drop my budget every month, as I start to get better at planning ahead, but we'll see how that goes!:D
Just spent £3.98 in Morrisons on special offers that we didn't need, but will eat - including mini cheese and onion pasties we can take for lunch tomorrow, so I get a day off making sarnies! I only went in to look for whoopsies, but there wasn't much - they were trying to sell a punnet of strawberries for 75p which were at least half mould - bleurgh!0 -
MrsM
finished March £297 opps!
Still thinking on Aprils target........

MrsM, I'm declaring £88.69 for March please
For the first time since I started, I've blown the budget. In my defence, I haven't upped my budget despite now feeding three cats and buying cat litter.
This week, I've spent £11.85 on my food, and £20.55 on catfood/litter  although the catfood will last into next month (just  )
I'm going to give some thought to next month's budget, and maybe have a separate budget for the furry things - will post on April's thread when it's up.
I noticed in MrT's tonight that cheese seems to have gone up rather a lot?Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain ...0 -

TheBees are really struggling this month and are at least £50 over already and we still have to get through to the 31st!
Mrs M please put us down for
£360 for April please
I've put it up by £10 as everything seems to be getting more expensive and I agree that Lidl are not as cheap as they used to be.
I've been making a shopping list and meal list every month but must be going wrong somewhere. I've done a couple of big shops and lots of top up shops but I think it could be the top up shops that are costing me more.
Might have to go back to shopping every 7-10 days and get into some routine again.Mortgage Free in 3 part 2 challenge - pay off £9000
Sealed Pot Challenge 416 - target £5000 -
I went into Mr T this morning to get some milk & they had masses of meat whoopsied to half price!
Normally at this time of morning (9am) there is very little & what there is is only reduced by 1/3, so I guess it was reduced to half so early because there was so much. The RTC cabinet was completely full & the lady was still adding more.
I could have gone completely mad. But I only picked up some bits that I know we will definitenly use. A nice bit of topside, as me & DD love a traditional roast; a whole chicken – always useful; some lamb mince, as I have been thinking of making a mousaka & a little bit of stewing steak.
With the whoopsied silverside joint & gammon joint I bought at Mr A at the weekend that gives me 4 Sunday joints, plus left overs for another dinner & lunch meat. I’ve been keeping a running inventory of the freezer & store cupboard & there is masses in!!:D0 -
Evening
I'd like to re-join this challenge (haven't been on since last year!) New month starts tomorrow for me!
I'm going to start easy £100 for April for one. I occassionally feed OH too!
thanks urg x x0 -
Can you tell me if you all include things like toothpaste, light bulbs, dishclothes etc in your challenge amount? Try as I might, I can't seem to get my monthly spending much below £270 for two adults, a dog and 2 cats but this does include household stuff and my 14 units of red wine per week!
Sorry if this is not the right place to paste. Can I join in for next month please?0 -
Hi everyone, I am declaring my March total which is £261.60 - which I am pleased with as it is under by £13-40 - the third month in a row under budget. I also manged 17 NSDs - which is a record for me I think!
I suppose I ought to bite the bullet and cut my budget next month - especially as we will be away for the last week - but I am a bit nervous as we will have extra visitors over the Easter hols and will be cooking more treats! But, in for a penny...as they say! I will cut my budget by £5 - just a token to see if I can do it! So Mrs M please put me down for £270 for April. My month will run from 27th-25th (we go away on that Saturday and won't be back till 2nd May when my next month will start - hoildays are not in the GC budget!)
Hugs to all who need them - and well done everyone.
Love Moniker0
