Mrs M, could you put me down for £400 please. Due to complete failure during Jan and Feb I am keeping it high - also a four and a half day month. I am not stopping work till later in the month so I expect the next few weeks will be as frantic as usual, so I don't hold out a lot of hope for sensible shopping, batch cooking etc! Can't wait to get my teeth into it when I finish my job.
I have already bought a 10kg pack of washing powder so March has effectively started for me. Must do the meal planning for the week! OH is away a lot this week so simple food for me and the kiddies.
Good luck everyone,

Morning all
Just a quick up date on spend situation did first shop for March on Friday, seem again to have spent quite alot in first week, but as this is only my 2nd month on GC feel I'm still stockpiling so can then only buy meat/fish etc as whoopsies or in bulk from local trade butcher (he's open to public also - great bargains - how GC is that?). Hope that stockpiling will start to pay off as already this month I've still got some stuff left from last month and at the end of this month I should have more so should then really be able to cut the budget... (that's the theory anyway ......!)
Keep going everyone - you're all an inspiration - if you get fed up spend ten minutes reading posts - your inspiration will return.

Never a truer word said. I do get inspired reading about how you all go about your worlds.
I'm determined to read this thread as often as possible. I oftentimes get put off by the sheer volume of posts I've missed so I sometimes go up in batches of 5 (pages) then I get nosey about what I've skipped so cherry pick pages. Ah, it's a distressing time when catching up:rotfl:
This and the "Tougher" threads will be my homework for the month and it may even (unfortunately) replace some HOUSEWORK. Hey Ho...........Grocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)0 -
