Evening all!
Thank you everyone for all the hard work that gets this thread up and running every month:T
Dipped into my March Budget a little early because my Feb. budget got blown away. However, I am remaining optimistic although its a difficult month food wise. We had two extra for dinner today and we've got DS2 and OH coming to spend 3 days with us from tomorrow. Also we have DMs birthday this month and our Wedding Anniversary as well as Mothers Day, so it's going to be challenging.
The cupboards are well stocked though and the Freezer is not looking too bad. The trouble is as fast as I'm making HM meals we're either eating them or giving them away to one or the other of our DSsMy HM Sausages are disappearing fast.
I shopped at the Farmers Market today and the local Butcher. Also got a sack of Potatoes from a local farm and had a small shop in MrS. While in MrS I noticed they were selling one Cauliflower for £2.59:eek: What is going onLuckily had bought a nice large Cauli at the Farmers Market for 70p.
Also today I made two large Lasagnes, one for our dinner today with DS1 and his OH and one for some other time.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE FOR MARCH!Sealed Pot Challenge 7 Member 022 :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin

Hello can I join in please?? This is my first month so can you please put me down for £400/month. This is for 4 (sometimes 5)adults and 2 (or 3 kids) inc baby. I am hoping that after seeing what I spend in this first month I will see what I can do to reduce this amount month by month.
sorry I am waffling on now!Following :money: to keep us debt free :j0 -
Hi Mrs M can you put me down for £200 please?
I was really busy in February, and went missing from the thread, but wish I kept my reciepts as I mostly only went 'proper' shopping twice (Once at ASDA, once at Lidl where I poped in to Tescos to get a couple of bits that I couldn't get there)and spent less than £50 each time!:j I bought some milk, fresh salad &fruit but that was all my spending for the month.
I did start to use quite a lot of my store cupboard bits up, so £200 will be quite a stretch.
Goodluck everyone!:hello: :hello: :hello:

I had a NSD day today as I did my shopping yesterday and although I though it was a lot-it wasnt really! Im just not used to spending anymore!
Ive got money left over! I put a lot of this sucess down to lots of stockpiling of offers(over the last year)/bulk cooking/whoopsies and vouchers(more than ever before)
I set a very realistic budget as it includes a lot of things and basically there are 5 adults here-my 15 yr old dd eats like a horse!S0-Im very pleased with everything. Ive also been buying a lot more meat fish and fresh veg as Im on a diet and junk is not allowed. I really did think this would set me back but Ive managed to get so many whoopsied that its had no effect.
Im not doing any bulk cooking this month as I want to use up what is already in the freezer(approx 30 tubs)and also because I wont be eating the sort of thing Ive been bulk cooking for a while. Also-with better weather on its way we wont be needing the "cold weather" meals and I want to leave space to freeze anything we manage to grow.
All previously bought readymeals/frozen processed foods is rapidly dwindling as I am now generally only buying "real" food and nothing processed. This is probably why Im saving so much. As I have the time to look around and bargainhunt I am managing to find fresh food that has to be sold due to its sellby date. Having been home for nearly 3 weeks on hol has also helped a great deal as Ive not been temped to buy stuff which is ready prepared.
It will be nice to start afresh tomorrow-a long month for me as Im working mine on calendar maont. Ive set annual budget and divided it into quarters-then into months-then into weeks. Doubt @I will spend tomorrow-only thing I intend to do is to go for a swim and I have a prepaid card from last year for that!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0
