Hi everyone - hope you are all having a good day. The Weetabix Cake last night was a real hit, so much so that today I found this recipe for Weetabix Brownies which we will have after Dinner.;)
Dinner tonight is Oxtail Stew, thanks to elizabunny for the recipe, it smells gorgeous in the SC at the moment, hoping it will be a success and then shall turn the remains into Soup tomorrow.

mommyof4 - I want to do the free 8th week too :j And was also looking at the £20 loophole thing. Can you close the account straight away or is there a minimum time you open it for? Sorry to ask, I should just be checking the website for this!!
LittleGemSaver - Welcome to MSE!!! :hello:
kezlou - A fellow Teessider! I just moved from Boro to H'pool. Can't find anyone from the North East around here so this is a first for me!
Thank you all for the warm welcome. My challenge week won't start until Sat the 8th, but am already planning and budgetting for it.
My problem is that I rent a house and the oven cannot control temperature, so no matter what setting it's on, it burns things to a crisp on the outside and leaves them raw on the inside. DH and I are thinking of getting the JML halogen oven, but the truth is we can't afford anything... Although in the long term it will save us money. So I'm looking at the threads for these types of oven and will make a decision soon I hope.

My spends so far this month have ben £8.96 in Farmfoods, and £9.99 in MrMs - month spend so far £18.95. I managed o get absolutely loads in Farmfoods, including a huge box of cereal, a huge bag of mccain's chis, and enough energy drinks to see me through my drving lessons. Then I toddled along to MrMs and got not very much at all for more money! Not impressed.
In the middle of cooking my sausage, sage and apple burgers fo dinner though...yum!0 -
Hi everyone,
The last two days were NSD so that's good.

Hi everyone,
Can you please put me down for £300 for the month. Went slightly over last month so must try harder this time. Of to a reasonable start because there are a fair few things in the fridge, freezer & storecupboard to help me through most of the week. Should only need fresh stuff. And then when I am getting that not give in to temptation..:o:cheesy::cheesy: Cheese… milk's leap toward immortality :cheesy: :cheesy:Clifton FadimanFeb'11 - GC: £105.89/£125 - NSD: 15:jMar'11 GC: £3.84/£100 - NSD: 00 -

Hi everyone
Am SO into this Grocery Challenge. Love it! I've instructed DH, to within an inch of his life, to quit with the "popping into..." attitude to shopping. He has the palate of a toff, that's for sure. He's bought Jersey full cream milk, clotted cream, posh scones jalepeno cheese, oh it goes on and on.
I've managed 2 NSD. Well actually I've had 3 but husband sabotaged a day by "popping into M&S" and costing me £7.53. Where can I find a fist-shaking smiley?
I've also successfully mealplanned this week from what's in stock. I'm hoping to live off whatever it is that stops the freezer closing without a struggle. I then rather fancy my chances with some of the recipes on page 1. So, I shall do a mealplan from there week after next and shop accordingly. Here's hoping there's no recipes for brains, offal or tripe _pale_ cos I might just choose numbers in order of appearance.Grocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)0
