    Good luck for March shopping!

Please count me in I'm new to this forum I am looking to spend £80 this month this is for myself & toiletries/cleaning products/pet food. I live with my OH but he is into bodybuilding so he spends alot on protein snacks/food/drinks etc so can't count him in

I haven't spent anything this month yet as the cupboards are still bulging from the last shop I did :D hope this isn't classed as cheating!

  • Hi all, have been a bit late with the upstart of March - can't believe there are 13 odd pages already!

Mrs M, can you put me down for £275 again please. I just about came in budget for February, but that was with a cut of £25 from £300.

My dd and I did lots of lovely baking during February - soups and cakes and this morning we sowed lots of seeds of radish, cucumber, pepper and spring onion. Rather chuffed that this is the 4th day of the month of a no spend!

    Good luck all.

Well quite of myself today, did a clear out of the fridge to see what i had left and guess found bag of salad potatoes at the back that i had forgotting about, so having them for tea tonight along with HM chicken, leek and bacon pie. The pies massive but no doubt my OH and eldest will eat the lot. My eldest is eight but tends to have thirds and fourths. I swear he's a bottomless pit, light as a feather and you can see his bones, he's like a skeleton, its quite scary.
So looks like i will only have to buy apples this week for next weeks pack lunches as i have LOADS of veg. Chopped up and froze some reduced parsnips and sprouts. Freezer is still packed, so don't need to buy anything for they.
So another no spend day for me, i will make it 10 days this month.

Does anyone have any ideas with what i can do with a leftover chicken carcass? It's currently in the slow cooker as i'm making stock with it. Normally i would throw it after this but wondering if they's anything else i can do it?

    Sorry about the long post.

Just been to Tescos and Lidl.....cost me €122.02, bringing this month's total to €147.66...lots of things won't be needed again this month, OH and I will be away next week and DD4 tends to buy food when we're not here, not sure why but means that cupboards and freezer should stay fairly full for when we come home.
Welcome to newbies to GC and good luck to all

Hello all, please put me down for £180 for March - looking to keep the average spend each month to about £200 and have a bit of ground to make up. Plus, both DH and I will be away a bit this month with any food involved going onto work expenses - so think this might be realistic. We have good supplies in the freezer of HM meals, soups and meat etc. which is a good sign.

I haven't posted in a long long time, too many Life Events coming all at once, just like buses... we are looking to move westwards out of London, which could reduce our costs a bit. I had one job interview on Monday and am waiting to hear back, and two more over the next week or so - so please keep fingers crossed for me!

    Thanks and all the best,

    saf

Good luck with your interviews Saf!

I too had an interview last week. They emailed me yesterday to say they are going to readvertise the position and that my application will be carried forward and I may be asked back again for another interview. Sorry to be churlish but I feel more insulted with that response than a definite "NO" .

Oh well - I'm managing to fill my days with GC related tasks :rotfl: !!

Don't think I've ever been so busy :rotfl:

No money spent so far today but I will need to go and get milk.

My oven is on the blink at the moment.:o The temperature is very variable. I have picked out a new cooker. I have an in-built hob and single oven but I want a double oven. I someone a coiming round tonight to check how easy it will be to cut the counter tops and base to fit in a freestanding cooker. All being well, I will have my super duper new cooker next week. Cooking and baking shouldn't be such a hit or a miss. Last nights lamb chops took forever to cook. Still after a couple of under done chops, OH said order a new cooker.
