It's my fridge clearing dish
We had my fridge clearing dish tonight - 1/2 red pepper lefotver, 1/2 courgette lying around, a droopy looking leek, some over ripe tomatoes. Fried off in pan and then 7 eggs left in dozen box beaten with milk poured over to make frittata. DH had cheese on his too.
Served with some freezer veg and a fried sliced jacket potato left from yesterday for me, and some leftover express microwave rice - hubby took half a pck for lunch
today. Lots of bits and bobs removed from the fridge now. Its looking a bit bare :eek:Jan GC: £202.65/£450 (as of 4-1-12)

I went to the butchers and spent £50 on meat, my first spend this month. Should be enough to do us for a couple of months. Our town is seriously lacking in good butchers, so I travel to a butcher in the countryside who has his own abattoir. It's always great quality at a good price!

BTW in my local Wilkinsons today saw 4 pk Heinz tom soup (the ultimate comfort food LOL) for £1.00. Also Heinz Spread and bake 69p 2 for 1? or was that my imagination
. Anyway £1.00 each in MrA. I will go back tomorrow, for soup and check the other. This can come out of stockpile budget as i have enough for the month.

Hi all thought I better post on the March thread as otherwise I lose track! Have already made a couple of visits to Mr M's & today to Mr T's - quite shocked at the price variations & how on the ball you have to be to get the best value. DH got 2lt milk & part baked baguettes from Mr Ms (£1.53 & 79p) yesterday. Today in Mr T's the prices were 92p & 39p respectively - I know the milk is on special offer - but a massive difference if you are watching the pennies

Good morning everybody.
I have been looking at my spends since I started trying to budget my food bills and I feel I deserve a little pat on the back:p
I started back in July 2007 and I spent £456.63:eek:
In December 2007 I spent £628.99:eek:
Recently if I spend over £200 I feel realy annoyed at myself.
So........... to any newbies, take heart... it can be done. And to the vets... keep it going girls.......... keep it going:D0 -
