went way over in feb £300 instead of £200, but my frezzer and cupbords are full, so please put me down for £200 for march and I'll hope for better luck next time. Taken a tip from my bf mum, all the left over bits of veg (always one bit of brocoli) are now being put in an old icecream tub in the freezer and when its full, it will become vegtable soup! free meal :)

    Hi all

Have not had time to read posts the last few days but a quick update, went shopping today (after 3 NSDs :T) as needed milk, eggs and F&V. Spent exactly £25 between farmfoods, B&M and local market. So have left less than half for the month but have checked freezer and enough meat for at least 20 meals so made a meal plan for two weeks and feel really good about that.

Somehow I find it easier to make a meal plan by looking at what is available in the freezer than do my shopping according to MP. But I might get there...

Don't think I will need to spend tomorrow so have just over £30 left per week now, that should be more than enough, will need milk and F&V but not much else I think.

Right, gotta go and will catch up with posts later.

Well waited in all day yesterday for a delivery that didn't arrive so now have to buy tatties from supermarket i think arghhhh.

Spent another £10 today on food and a loaf of bread.
Sainsburys have an offer on milk which is way cheaper than my corner shop.
    Embleton Hall Milk 2 x 2L for £2
Peppers (basic) have shot up to £1.42:eek:
Got reduced pack lunch food stuff e.g ham, bread as well as carrots (1kilo), tomatoes and basil, chilli cheddar.
So have to some pots and that should me hopefully. Worked out i have £30 a week to spend based on £150 / 5 so seeing how that goes.
    Just updating signature, bye all.

I finished work early so I went to the butchers and market today instead. I spent £25.40 in total. My total is creeping up, yikes. But I should not need anymore meat for the rest of the month. I will only need fruit, veg and milk.

well I woke up in the middle of the night:rolleyes: thinking "I didn't take the baby milk I got for DD2 off my MrA bill" :rotfl: :rotfl: . Unfortunately when I looked I'd also made a mental math mistake :o so only £2.00 to add not £6.00.

:rotfl: Thought it was just me that did this, but it seems I'm in good company here.

Have just totted up that I've spent £103 of my £200 budget already, and it's only 3rd March!

Saying that, we've got enough meat to last us nearly 3 weeks, my store cupboard and freezers are full again and I've now frozen enough mashed potatoes to last us into April!

I'm hoping that at the weekend I'll just have to buy lettuce and milk. Don't intend to do another supermarket shop until about 16 March, which will last us until the end of March

I know the feeling IsoChick. I appear to have spent £1000 of my £3000 annual budget already and it's only 3rd March. :embarasse

I keep trying to stop shopping and live out of the freezers and storecupboard but you send the men out for milk, eggs, cheese and F&V and they come home with all sorts of stuff...

Oh well, garden should be producing soon and DH is slowly getting better. (Famous last words?:lipsrseal )

Off to update my siggie and try to catch up with the thread. Wonder whether I'll have caught up with the backlog by the end of the month:rotfl:

Congratulations Rachelmk :T . Best of luck.

Oh dear, my OH is the same. His question everyday, when he rings to say he is on his way home is "Do we need anything from the shop??"; and very patiently I say "No dear, we've got loads of stuff at home and a 2 week meal plan, we don't need anything at all"...

I started lots of my veg seeds over the weekend - tomatoes, chilli's, peppers, peas and beans and some herbs. Wish I could get out into the garden more! Am determined to wait to plant my early potatoes so that they don't get frosted!!
