I used to work in Makro, and basically the reason why the staff dont care is cos they are grossly overworked there is a severe lack of staff, and hardly any staff incentives. Prices are severely overpriced, there special offers are cack, when there are special offerst they never come off at the tills because there computer system is ridiculously out dated.
Some of the managers are incredibly dense (but i have had the privilage of working with some nice ones)
believe me 99% of Makro items can be bought cheaper in Sainsburys (who i consider to be quite expensive!)
and beware of the electrical items because 70% of the stock they by gets returned because it is shoddy........although u may get the odd few that do work.
Please take note from some one who quit there after 11 years!!Savings Total so far for 2023: £8,062.580 -

I have a Makro card and used to go fairly regularly, but not so much recently. I hardly ever receive the magazine giving the discounts, whereas it used to come every month, I think. You have to be really careful about what you buy, some of the clothes are OK (I bought a Regatta waterproof jacket much cheaper than anywhere else), but it is easy to get carried away and forget about the VAT!Total debt May 2005 £83,232
Total Debt November 2009 £0! DEBT FREE!

i always go to makro for my household goods/cleaning products - washing powder, conditioner, cleaning products etc - cheaper than supermarkets (apart from their own bogof offers) only other thing i've found cheapish is the DIY equipment instore
btw - look out at the end of the ailses for trolleys with 'so-called damaged goods' ive had lots of bargains from them but they are not damaged, just lost there carrying caseGot married on 1st August
thank you to everyone on the weddings and anniversary forum xxx
