Sometimes they have some good bogof offers, and obviously the bulk sweets etc you can't normally get. Also I got 12x woodys (alcopop) lime & grapefruit for about £8. And i've not seen this to buy for aboout 5 years (and it's nice too!)It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0 -
Be very careful and check your bill. I went to get some BOGOF offers and actually paid full price for everything. Plus they were supposed to be doing 30% off Christmas gifts (this was pre-Christmas) which was never applied. Unfortunately I didn't check my bill until I got home and it's a 70 mile round trip to my local Makro. Tried to get money back on next visit and was told no. I reported them to Trading Standards who said they'd had a lot of complaints and were paying them a visit. Last time I went I carefully checked my bill and all was fine, plus saved myself over £200 on some shelving I bought, so there are some bargains, but be careful and check your bill BEFORE you leave the shop.Don't blame me, it was like that when I got here!0

hmmm, i like them cos i can get cases of beer and some of it is stuff you simply cant get anywhere else....
they don't seem to be doing too well judging by the poor amount of offers they have and the high prices
it's a shame, they would do so much better if they were cheaper. it's not like they're a small companyThe word is BOUGHT, not BROUGHT.
It's LOSE, NOT LOOSE.

Having been into quite a few Cash & carrys in my timeMakro doesnt compare to some of the independant ones. I used to love visiting GTOwens when I had access. They had some great offers and discounts.
Could never get over the Inflatable travel pillow scam. They used to sell it for less than a pound (inc VAT) when every other cheap store sold it for £3 +.
I know what grex 9101 is talking about they often have unusual beers at discount prices.Veteran Bargain Hunter -
Best ever bargain: Rugby shirts (seconds) @ 20p0 -
I only go there when they have a special offer on that I want to perchase. Most other things you can buy cheaper in the shops.0

The special offers are good ,but if it isn't on special I can often get it cheaper at Asda. Electricals are always worth a look.0

I also find myself buying beer there. For example, they sell 12 bottles of Leffe for about a £1 a bottle (including VAT) which is a farir bit cheaper than the supermarkets.
I have to agree that is the attitude of the staf and the tills that lets Makro down though. I hate it is the cashier that goes off to check a pricing error, for example! The queues soon build up and nobody seems to care. I have just walked on quite a few occasions, but I keep on coming back for more!0 -
The best thing about Makro (being a goldcard trader) is a free breakfast, free cuppa and dedicated checkout so I don't have to wait behind miles of queues!0

great for the special offers sometimes but otherwise more overpriced than a corner shop. The curve that can set a lot of things straight is a smile0
