I think the postman was the only one who wears a namebadge in their job, so the detective knew what his name was straight away.

... the gradual shift in society over the last few decades has meant that each family unit now requires dual-income, where single used to be sufficient...

    It is worse than that.

In order to afford the things that they want, we will see working people ONLY choosing to marry other working people leaving the unemployed to tie up with other unemployed people.

Working couples cannot afford to have (many) children. Unemployed people need children to provide the best meal ticket.

It's Darwin's Theory of Evolution - in reverse.

There are 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those that don't.
  • Today I washed and ironed all his shirts, have made a pie from scratch and am just about to change into something slinky for when he comes home from work.

    Happy?

Alarmed. Is it one of those things that coils up and can go down the stairs one at a time?

The word 'almost' should be removed from the title.
It makes it sound a bit wishy-washy.;)

I didn't read the article but I wonder if consideration is made for the spending power of these working women and how that affects the economy...

its slightly relevant that as of Monday gone, for the first time, I am no longer The Major Bread Winner. (hurrah)

If I weren't so frustratingly driven I'd love to drop a couple of clients now and spend a lot more time doing non-work activities. Like some others on this thread, I could happily spend all day occupied in my Phirey world. Just sitting and cuddling The Basset all day for one thing.

Get rid of 'working' and 'certainly' as well. Then we're starting to firm up on the message.

All the men should work, then all their money goes into a pot to be equally divided among us ladies, so we can lunch.

    :)

    That'd work.

Yeah but who the hell would cook! There are not enough Jamies & Ramseys to go round :rotfl:
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
