Think it must depend on the model, my Morphy Richards 6.5l was much quicket than the Worrell Thompson (Breville) one Mum's let me have to replace it.
That ain't working! That's the way to do it, money for nothing and TV's for free ;)
  • It's on high but some of the meat wasn't cooked well enough and none of the vegetables were so I emptied my bowl back into the pot and am leaving it again...

By the way, now I am officially offering: Does anyone want my spare ticket to see Paul Weller at the 02 with me on the 21st?

I know it's a slow-cooker but 5 hours on and my food is virtually raw...at least the veggies are....

I have mine on from about 9 in the morning on low and by the time that we eat at 5 everything is perfect, that's 8 hours, so 5 might be pushing it on low.

FE are u gonna be going by urself if no one take the other ticket :( ???
I can only please one person a day.... Today is not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look good either!!
very greatful for almost everything i read on MSE (except for the nasties!)
  • Yeah, I don't mind but feel guilty about wasting the spare ticket. Got my coach booked and am gonna wing it when it comes to finding a hostel...
  • FE, with slow cookers it is most important not to open the lid. Also, veg for some strange reason cooks much slower than meat at those temps, so first of all cut it smaller than you would in conventional cooking, and also put it at the bottom so it is nearer the heat source.

I hope this helps. Better luck next time!

Evening all. No time to stop and chat, sorry - just popping in to say sorry for not being in today much and won't be in for the next couple of days - was v busy at work and this evening and am off to London for a conference tomorrow/Thursday. Was hoping to have time to comp and chat this evening but it hasn't happened that way. See you all Friday when I'll start catching up again - best go pack my bag. (Will have my phone so will be on twitter when the conference is boring me!)

    See you soon. x

Chris, have been thinking about you and your family. Wishing you everything you need to get through this difficult time. xx
