I had Keyne Home Improvements do the front of my house - the guy is very honest, upfront and came in a lot cheaper than the 'big' names... and is FENSA registered etc. When I get the back done I'll be calling him to quote...

Thanks, whilst not after all the detail, when was the work done? and how much cheaper was it? Just looking for as much help as possible. Last thing I want is someone in my house for hours on end :-)

Work was done in one day in November 2009, 5 windows in total took less than a day to complete. I had additional options like fanlights in the upstairs and coloured outsides/white insides.

Compared to Anglian it was about £1500 cheaper... although we'd have probably got Anglian down further if I had the money to do all of the windows (front and back) at the time.

I didn't have to have him back for any niggles, but he refitted my parents' conservatory roof and windows and they called him out for some assistance with a lock; he was prompt to sort it out.

Hi all - I am taking part in the MK midnight moo on 16th July which for those who haven't heard of it, it is a 10 mile walk around MK during the night to raise money for Willen Hospice!

If you are in generous mood please sponsor me, it is for a very good cause and I need as much motivation as I can get to make the whole 10 miles! Your support would help me (and the folks at Willen) greatly!

You can visit my sponsorship page here - http://www.justgiving.com/Leanne-Mckenna

I know this is not totally in keeping with this thread but I thought posting in the MK thread would grab the attention of those who are familiar with the hospice/charity and it may have real meaning for some of you in here!

    Thanks
  • I really want my kids to learn Turkish, as they are half turkish, but unfortunately can't speak the language :(
Is there anyone who has any experience with teaching kids, who is fluent in Turkish?
Any ideas where I can find anyone.
    Thanks.
  • I used Gallagher and Cropton for my new door back in December and have also recommended them for another family member. The installer came out when we had all the snow so was pleased they didnt cancel. The salesman wasnt pushy, I knew what I wanted and he didnt try to sell me anything else but the door I wanted, and I told him I was getting other quotes and that he could call in a week once I had made a decision, which he did. Another company came in a little cheaper but they matched the price and I went with them as I always try and use local companies where possible as often the service is better. They have been going for quite some years (checked all this out beforehand!) and got my Fensa certificate for the door once it had been installed. I refused to use Anglian on principle as years ago they refused to give me a quote unless my husband was at home (as obviously I couldnt make a decision on my own!). Really put my back up and will not deal with the company now!

We have had a leaflet through the door from a company called Fabricare offering reduced price carpet cleaning. We are looking and getting our carpets done but I wanted to know if anyone has used this company before and can let me know if they were any good.

I need to know asap as the offer is only for two weeks :)
