Hi there
what about crushing some (not too fine) and use them as coating for chicken breasts or goujons etc.... Bi**ds e*e actually sell a chicken quarterpounder that has crispies on the outside..very yummy...
I often do this with left over cereals....also mix in with crumble topping for apple crumble makes it lovely and crunchy...still thinking could add more ideas later....0 -

I do this too - OH was most bemused when he realised he'd been eating "cornflake fish" :rotfl::staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -

This is the recipe I used for our local fiesta with just marshamallows
45g butter
300g marshmallows
180g Rice Krispies
1. Melt the butter in a large, heavy-based saucepan over a low heat.
2. Add the marshmallows and cook gently until they are completely melted and blended, stirring constantly.
3. Take the pan off the heat and immediately add the cereal, mixing lightly until well coated.
4. Press the mixture into a greased tin; it will be very sticky.
5. Let the squares cool completely in the tin and then cut them into squares.
Alternatively you can put spoonfuls into little sweet or cake paper cases
You can also add some grated orange or lemon zest
This is the one I use with toffees, scrummy, even I eat these
Rice Krispie Squares
100g (4oz) butter or hard margerine don't use easy spread stuff
100g (4oz) marshmallows
100g (4oz) toffees
200g (7oz) rice krispies
Put the toffes, butter and marshmallows in saucepan, heat gently till all melted, then let it bubble for a minute or 2
Take off heat and let it stand for a couple of mins.
Put rice krispies into a large bowl and pour over toffee mix. It seems as if there are too many crispies but they do all mix in eventually, tho the mix gets quite stiff
Spread out in a greased 12x9in tin, sometimes I use paper sweet cases , sometimes I use silicone mat, leave to cool and cut into pieces if needed
Keep in a tin, don't put in fridge or they go soggy

Hi Treacle,
There's an earlier thread that should help so I've added your thread to it to keep all the ideas together.

I have just found an old file with recipes that I had cut out of magazines a few years ago and there is one in there for Peanut Butter Squares made from rice crispies (official recipe from Kellogs).
I haven't tried it yet but I think I may have a go at the weekend.
Peanut Butter Squares
50g margarine
150g marshmallows
150g rice crispies
75g peanut butter
Melt the margarine and marshmallows in a large pan over a low heat and stir in the peanut butter and rice crispies.
Stir until well coated.
Press mixture evenly into a well greased (33x22cm) baking tray.
Allow to cool and cut into squares.
Makes 24 squares.
Says 77kcal per square, 0.36 saturates of fat per square.
Anyone else going to have a go at making some?0 -
