50% up from same quarter last year.

What is 50% up? Your bill? Gas prices? Your usage?

(British) Gas prices went up 55% last year. So if it's your bill that is only 50% greater than the previous winter's quarter which was very warm then you must be doing something strange either this winter or last winter.
  • My bill, as clearly stated above.

So you did something very weird last winter. How can your consumption be nearly the same this winter (50% rise in bill -- 55% rise in prices) as last winter, considering the completely different temperatures? You were either extraordinarily wasteful last winter or ridiculously frugal this winter.
  • i got my BG bill for this quarter and it was £365 - and i have a five bed detached house.
  • You can't be 'very wierd' then - see previous poster's very wierd post.

Is your usage what you would consider normal?

How do you know that Specsappeal is not behaving weirdly? They have not revealed what they spent last winter. If Specsappeal spent £240 last winter and £365 this winter, they too have strange patterns to account for.

Albion Rovers. Your bill is the same as last year. It is colder this year than last. That is strange. This year's bill is lower than it should be.

I`m afraid all the massive bills for this winter`s quarter is down to one thing and one thing only, rip off prices from all six of the energy providers.

The government sits back and lets them get away with it just like the banks.
The sooner this motley crew are dispatched at the ballot box the better.
We`ve all got to pay for their uselessness for years to come.

God. My gas bill was £259 for the quarter and as it was about £90 up on the same quarter last year, I was horrified.

Looks like I got off lightly then.

First time I've been thankful for hot flushes............!
