post 25 has a linkI`m sorry but you are WRONG WRONG WRONG,for starters your family allowance is over £1500 a year, your mortgage i assume has falllen dramatically in recent months, the cost of running a car has also fallen as petrol is 30p a litre cheaper than last year, you dont mention any income of your own,do you not believe in work?
As for the £49 holidays please give me a link as my sons stepkids havent had a holiday for 5 years as they survive on benefits due to a terminally child.
There is plenty of help for those who work and qualify for help, ctc wtc even housing and council tax benefits for the low paid.Hit the snitch button!member #1 of the official warning clique.

Its difficult tying in what might be avaliable with the limited respite avaliable for the son whos terminally ill as he`s 21 and only gets a bout 6 days a year in a hospice for respite,he was getting 1 week every 7 weeks but the local authority ended the contract with the provider in order to save moneyHave they tried the relevant charity to get a holiday? I'm sure there are other charities for situations like this too.0 -
hi
he works in sales. car sales. its not hourly paid. To try and hit targets they have to work all the hours...
Did you know that even "commission only" staff have to be paid minimum wage for the hours they work? It was something I learnt on the Employment Board a couple of weeks ago, so I thought I'd pass on the information.0 -
We all make mistakes...after all we are only human. Sadly the holiday thing is no use to me lol as it's based in England and not Scotland :weep: guess i will have to save just like everyone else

I don't know if it's the same this year, but last year we were able to apply for a discount so never paid the full price. Check to see if they still do the reduced rates but the holiday is good value even without the discount. There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. When my ex first left, I went on IS with two small boys and had to decide if I wanted to move into council accomodation or find work so I could pay a mortgage on a house.
If I had gone into council housing, I understand I would have been entitled to a 2 bedroomed place (the boys were aged 5 and 3 at the time). I spoke to the housing department at the council and they could have offered me one of the properties which the lady warned me they class as "hard to let". It was in a less desirable village 12 miles from here, so it would have meant uprooting the boys from their friends in school and playgroup, and the area wasn't safe for them to play out.
Working gave me the option of being able to remove my ex from the mortgage and continue paying it myself on our current home. It's a lovely 4 bed house in a nice rural village where we still live, and they have space to play out safely.
While I may have been better off financially having my rent and council tax paid on benefits, I feel I've been much better off in general by having the freedom of choice to live in a nicer house in a better area. You haven't got to consider just the money aspect - you need to consider your whole lifestyle and how that would change if you were put in a council in a less desirable area as I was offered.
Not saying all council houses are in bad areas. There's some decent areas nearby but I would have had to go on waiting lists and stuff once I'd been in the "hard to let" one before I could move back. Here I go again on my own....0
