Oh God!
How horrible. At least when the job has finished they will be gone. Personally I wouldn't take it further either as you don't need a repeat performance from them. It makes you wish you had a flame thrower doesn't it? So sorry to hear that. You could contact the council highways department, explain that you were on the receiving end of violence and abuse from the contractors and you want those people removed immediately - but you would need to be assured of your anonimity. As you say, if they know your car, it might be just best left. They will get theirs coming. Your poor OH will be so angry as well. RR0 -
Sorry you had such a traumatic evening - that's horrible! It's so frustrating that you can't really do anything about it. Glad you and OH are getting on 'better' though
Any job news today? I was made redundant at Christmas but I've just been offered an interview for a really cool job. I can't believe it's only the second thing that's come up in 2 months - scary! Redundancy does suck!LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -

Hi BLondie.
I just phoned my friend who is a big cheese at our council and explained what had happened and your concerns about taking it further. He said that if this has happened to you, they will have done the same to others, or will do in the next few days. He said, keep out of their way, see if you can see any vans with a company name on them and write them down. (Not essential though). When they have left the site for good, write to the Head of the Highways dept at your council explaining what you have told us, and that the contractors were clearly a danger to the public and you did not feel able to go to the police for the reasons you stated. Then, what will happen is that when the council puts out tenders for future jobs, these contractors will not be employed for the jobs. Give physical descriptions of the two men and the manager. It won't come back to you - the contractors just won't get any more work with your council. My friend said that this is not uncommon. I hope that helps.0 -
