  • I dont know what you mean (im not really technical minded)

Upstairs we have the box on the wall for the modem then off that the router is connected and its into a PC

And downstairs we have 1 phone plugged in a phone socket and the rest of the phones are cordless

Then those results are a little slow but the router you've already got is fine.

Was that test run on the PC plugged into the router?

So just clarify - you've got CABLE broadband ?
You're modem doesn't plug into a phone socket?

When you got the router, you should have got some little boxes that look like this. You need one of them plugged into each phone socket that's in use.

There is a phone socket in the room but its not in use by anything.

There is a box on the wall with a wire coming out that goes into the modem and its connected that way. Does that make sense?

Have a look at your bill. Does it say Broadband Size L?
I'm pretty sure you should have had a free upgrade to 10MB by now.

  • I've just checked and in my area it is complete, I checked to see what is available in my area and it is 50mb.

I'll just go and check my bill and report back :)
