Also its down to the fact that i know about misprices so cannot stop seeing them, even if i am not looking, thats not my fault, but why should i miss out on the r&r that i am entitled to just because i know. Its a bit like: i can ride a bike now so i could never get on one and pretend i can`t!
  • I was very supprised today to get a live 8 dvd at formby, merseyside its weeks since this was highlighted!
The cs lady had never had a r&r before so had to ask what to do!!
Had a small accident in the car on the way home though - i can recommed the rac's insurance service they were very helpful on the phone

We bought a Roast in the bag chicken today.

As it went through the checkout I spotted it went through at £3.99 instead of £2.99 the SEL stated.

We queued at Customer Services and pointed this out to the lady, she went off and came back with a Lemon Roast in the bag Chicken. I pointed out that we'd bought a butter flavoured one, and that the SEL was £2.99. She stated "Sorry, Sir, you are wrong, the only ticket for the offer is for this item"

Feeling annoyed I said to her "you are wrong"

Two minutes later holding the SEL I said "Excuse me, I'd like to show you this!"

A rather poor quiet appology and refund later, we left with our chicken and £4 in the bank!

Sunday Roast always tastes better when free!
  • How does everybody go about their R&Rs ?

I have only had one R&R 'session' (DS games), and I wasn't really sure how to go about it. Specifically, I didn't know how long to wait between paying and going to CS, and whether or not I should be buying some groceries to make it look less dodgy.

I would have thought this becomes even more important when you're doing this kind of thing regularly.....?

So - what is your routine when you're going for an R&R ?

This product is a small boxed concentrated floral disinfectant, about 6" high, its sister product is about 9" high and every box i have ever seen ,in the larger size is printed "Economy size" across the box itself. I dont know if tesco sell the larger but they do sell this product. The point is this,if you compare the price per ml or whatever on the sel ,the economy size is actually dearer! I pointed this out to another supermarket, who were disinterested and so i rang the company who make the product to ask them if the smaller and larger item were the same (the larger product range come in a different fragrance name). The company said they were the same, however a retailer could claim this is a different product.I also spoke to my local trading standards who were disinterested and have never got back to me.Would be interested in other peoples opinion on this.

Has anyone got head office number as the one the cs lady has given me remains unanswered....

    Had a problem today
Healthy Living Diced Lamb SEL £9.91 and on pack was charged £12.34

cs argued that the price had changed and as it was clearly marked on the packet as £12.34 I had NOT been overcharged (despite the lower SEL). The manager woman backed her up and they would only give me the difference.

    I am right aren't I? I was overcharged?

So - what is your routine when you're going for an R&R ?
    My routine is as follows:

    1) Always buy a couple of non-R&R items with the goods usually consumables I need i.e. milk or bread etc. Never buy more than 2 R&Rs in anyone shop.
    2) Buy and pay for the goods (nowadays by cash with no club-card offered).
    3) Leave the shop, then pause for 2 secs, look confused, check receipt, then re-enter store (this isn't necessary but seems to "look" better than storming directly to the CS from the tills).
    4) Re-locate the item on the shelf to make sure the SEL is still in place and the description is similar to receipt.
    5) Visit CS and explain apologetically and with my sweetest smile that I think I may have paid too much for an item!

Then depending on how high value the item is, how much I trust the CS etc. I may accompany them to the SEL to "show them" where I picked the product up from, usually making small talk about how often the prices seem to change on items, how it must be a nightmare for them, and how you have to check your receipts so carefully nowadays.

    6) If only offered difference explain that whilst in the CS queue I was reading their "Our Promises" sign and wondered why the "If things don't add up" doesn't apply?

Thank them kindly, look pleasantly suprised at getting the product AND a full refund and walk out of the store.

    Rufus.
