Do children ever leave home nowadays?

I didn't leave home until I was 23, lived with then boyfriend for 3 years beofre we split up then moved back home again!
Stayed there for 2 years before moving out again. When I moved back home Mum didn't charge me any rent as I worked away a lot so hardly there and could do washing at work so wasn't a drain. However there was one rule to me staying at home. I had to be saving and if she saw i wasn't she would take rent instead. Anyway I saved at least £300-£500 per month and hence had a good deposit to put down when I moved out again and bought my own house.0 -
I left home at 18 and so did my hubby. Naively we thought our kids would too :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Our sons are now 28 and 25 and daughter is 20.
Number 2 son left home nearly 2 years ago at 23 to live with mates in a men behaving badly style house  Within a few weeks he met a new girlfriend and they are now living in their little mortgaged house together - so mum is happier too
Number 1 son only left home last year aged 27 to get a mortgage with his girl friend too
Daughter though - she works in childcare which is notoriously poorly paid and now they are planning on stopping 100% mortgages and we live in a very expensive part of the country so goodness only knows when she will be able to afford to fly the nest
I have to say - I do miss my boys, BUT - the house is quieter, calmer,I don't lie awake wondering if they are coming home - & safely at that, less washing and ironing, and we have turned one of their bedrooms into a much needed office/study
So I am loving it :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0
