  • Hi Laura,
Just a little note to say well done on your LB moment and well done for reducing your debts so far. Keep up the good work, I'll be popping in to see how you are getting on.

  • OH MY GOODNESS...

I knew I was in debt but didn't realise just how much until now... £18,412.30  how did I get myself into this mess?

Lemon Tree, beanielou, Tixy and ms_london thank you all for your support now that I have this figure I will be able to get a signature. I'm in the process of filling out a statement of affairs so I'll get that up shortly. I set up an Ebay account on Saturday and slowly but surely I'm getting there. It took me the whole day just to put 9 things on as I don't really know what I'm doing!

    Laura x

Have a look in your local Libary/adult ed oftem they do ebay classes for a small fee.
  • Hi TDQO hope you've got your accommodation an everything sorted?!
Hi Palema and Lottebear welcome to my diary! Never thought about doing Ebay lessons before I'll have a look into that. My mum wants me to teach her how to use Ebay but I don't even know how to do it myself never mind trying to teach her!!

Managed to get another 3 items on last night then went out with a friend. I was driving so she bought me a can of coke and I resisted getting something from the indians so I had my first NSD in ages!!!

Sometimes the college give me an extra £40 on top of my bursary for travel expenses but it never comes in regularly so I don't include it on my SOA but I got it today!!! So that's going straight off the overdraft. Direct debit came off for my loan today so that's £204.26 off the total debt.

I'm really enjoying all this money saving hopefully I can stick it out!!
Need to run as I gonna be late for college
    Bye x
  • Hi all. Not been feeling very well for the last few days...at least I've not been able to spend any money!! Managed to do 6.5 hours overtime over the last two days so I'm really pleased! Sold 1 on my items on Ebay yesterday for £4.99 so I'm pleased with that also. All my other items except 1 have bids so hopefully that goes well. Going to start doing a payment day and set myself a small goal - pay off the rest of my overdraft by the end of March!! So need to do as much overtime and ebaying as possible. At the moment I'm overdrawn by £1,395.77 but will be transferring the £600 from my savings account in soon so that's £795.77 that I need to get but I'm determined to do it.

sounds like you're off to a good start, lots of overtime and selling stuff on ebay. PAD is great it just proves that the little things help. I do something similar, each receipt which says i've saved something gets that amount transfered into a savings account. I also get 2p off a lt of petrol so i include that, and i include any drawings i make from the scratch cards. So far since i started doing this at the start of this year i've saved £75 which i think is pretty amazing really.
  • Hi Lemon Tree, well done on saving the £75 I should maybe try something like that as I never notice if I'm making any savings as I just spend it!! Transfered £3.98 into overdraft today and updated my signture, total debt - £17,119.81 which isn't too bad considering what it was at when I started this!

Still haven't sorted out my phone contract as I want stay with the same network but I would like to go through Quidco to get some extra cash so do I just called them up and cancel then go through Quidco & get the new one? Is it possible to keep the same number? I'm completely clueless when it comes to things like this!!

Need to get petrol today so it won't be a NSD for me :-(

    Take care everyone xx

sorry i can't help with phones, as i'm on PAYG and it generally only costs me £5 a month.
i certainly didn't think the savings bits would mount up, and as it's money i would have spent anyway it makes it easier to transfer it to the savings account.

Hey, just popping in to say well done on the progress, I don't use Quidco so can't help there. No more drunk txting exes either!

  • Had a bit of a rubbish day had my uni interview and it didn't go very well :( on the plus side my friend took me out for lunch to cheer me up and my 7 items on ebay all sold, making a total of £39.91!! Only spent £3.23 today and that was on ebay postage so that was good. Still haven't sorted out my phone contract or even thought about what to get anyone for their birthdays yet. Need to get more organised but there aren't enough hours in the day.

    Payment a Day today - £12!!

What uni and course was it for? Don't worry about it too much, I had 3-4 interviews and none of them went well but I still got offers from them all! Congrats on the ebay selling though.
