Personally id replace AVG with AVIRA (Your call, but it should certainly run better and its an overall better anti virus)
Use the AVG removal tool

reboot

Download AVIRA ANTI VIRUS PERSONAL (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')

Download CCLEANER (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION' ~ make sure YAHOO TOOLBAR is unticked on installation)

Run the CLEANER scan (UNTICK 'cookies')
Then run the REGISTRY scan (Backup the registry when it asks)

Then goto TOOLS and STARTUP
UNTICK what you dont need at startup ~
Pc suite
Skype
Adobe reader
Nero backup (if you dont really use it)
MSN Messenger (better to stop that within the program itself)
Etc

You also have programs on I know nothing about which could easily be slowing it down ~

I assume your on broadband? Then the modem software isnt needed either (Which can on occasion create slow computers)

If you DID ~ please reinstall AVG.
