Coventry BS

I have a few questions about the fixed rate bond.

1. I want to change the way that interest is paid. It says that I will be paid yearly into my HSBC account but I would rather it was paid into my Coventry accouont.

2. How do I register for online banking?

  • I have two Coventry bonds, one a Poppy Bond and the other one of the recent CS bonds, both applied for online and viewed online.

I don't want to change the way I'm paid (monthly) but as you do why not simply phone to ask your questions - see if they can change what you want changing for you.

I have to wait for next week for them to set me up the security password. I have sent them an email via their website so I will wait for a reply. It wont be a big lost as I only put in £10 so I guess I live it for a week.

    How do I register online?

Call and ask them to change the account.

Yes I agree as they have opened the bond quickly. The thing is that they have this rule where you have to send a password to them via post which takes 3 working days to set up. So I can't register for online banking until next Tuesday. I also don't like phoning financial organisations as it takes forever to get anything done via phone.

I found when I registered when I opened a bond last year that although there is this unusual arrangement where you need to send security details by post, you can be assured as soon as they get it they apply it to your account and then send out your Web ID so you can sign in and use the site. I have found them refreshingly efficient.

In my experience Coventry are extremely helpful on the phone, so don't hesitate to phone them!

Once you send the form with your password and three security questions (which the website will randomly ask you to type in once you have your WebID), and they will sent the WebID to you by post. Yes just check, by post. Looking at the letters I got there was only a few days between me initially sending in, and then getting the security form and getting the WebID back. Very good indeed.

    Short answer - automatically :D
