fool!....why waste police time and resources on calling them out when YOU could have easily resolved it yourself...I'm surprised you didn't get a clip round the ear from the boys in blue for wasting police time....and before you start banging on abbout your rights and my suggesting a clip round the ear....you sound very childlike the way you have presented your "case"...act like a child be treated like a child...
    I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

20 year ago and they would have had a good seeing to most likely where there was no cameras.... Sorry i mean " Harsh words" :D
  • I think 'fool' and 'idiot' are a bit harsh. He was simply being stubborn when confronted, and dug his heels in. That's fair enough.

But I'm still perplexed regarding the 23 copies of 'Best'. I can see that there's a coupon for £20 off an MOT in it, and £5 for a Toby Jug meal, but 23 copies? 23? Am I missing something here?

And I'm surprised the cashier didn't remember him buying 23 copies of Best. Surely this would somewhat stick in the mind??!! Even if he wouldn't/couldn't produce the receipt, surely it wouldn't have been difficult to quickly check the till record and see that someone had just bought 23 copies of 'Best'. Unless, of course, there were several customers this morning who rushed out early and bought 23 copies of Best.

    I have the feeling I'm over-thinking this.........

But I need an answer. I don't think I'll sleep tonight for worrying about why someone would buy 23 copies of Best magazine...........

I'm not bothered about going into the shop or your views, i take them on board. I dont shop lift or do anything wrong, in fact i never been in trouble with the police in my life and pay tax for them lovely police men/women.

What's annoying is the guys who stopped me would not tell why they did, only the fact that they told me a customer had seen me putting something into my bag in the store. I asked numerous times if they were accusing me of shoplifting and clearly they said no, so why would they want to look in ma private bag or have my reciept if not done anthing?? I am here to question such treatment and dont just go through life as a docile robot; if i did what would be next?

Yes they could esaily check that i bought the mags cctv and customer service.

Further, i dont mind people having there opinion but when they get insultive and personal thats differant and very rude; i believe this is not in the spirit of mse.

£2 off "thermacare" and 20p off "ozclean" both of which, Tesco will take, without buying the product.
So effectively £2.20-85p =£1.35 profit per magazine. Times 23 copies =£31.05.
(if he is allowed back in to "spend" them)
It's nice to be nice .....
You HAVE checked google before asking, haven't you?;)
