    Hi Sashacat

i think you have missed the whole point of why people are angry/annoyed. I don't really care that those who don't qualify foir the voucher have applied, it is slightly annoying that due to these people, genuine customers miss out on recieving their free CD.

Fair enough the promotion could have been run better, but does that give you right to try and force the company into giving you vouchers you weren't entitled to.

Probably the thing that annoys me the most is people who don't qualify for the voucher, and who still apply get rejected and then !!!!! about it on this site, and say "i think that an attack on all fronts is needed." why do you feel the need to complain when you were trying to blag it in the first place.

Just thought i would clarify for you!

Its a consumer revenge site... Anyone who puts out such a poorly executed promotion onto the internet is simply asking for trouble. If MSE hadn't publicised it someone else would have and indeed did do I believe.... The technology exists for each reader of timeout to be given a sealed envelope with a unique id that could then be used to register for a voucher.. Costly? Yes but as costly as the mess they're now in?

    E-mail strepsy yes - you simply get 3 x £3 voucher codes...

I think it's great that so many people applied, cd wow should sort their marketing out...this is just like the boots time out promotion ....they have poor marketing as well. i have no sympathy for cd wow or time out ,and why shouldn't people put their freebie finds on here....please keep it up as I apply for them all. The newbies on this site who have only posted on this thread are just law abiding citizens who wouldn't dream of taking a pen home from the office or making calls from work, or using the internet in work time for private things ........yeah, right

Hey sashacat, as I previously remarked I'm always up for some free stuff, but you must know that you don't really get anything for free, you gotta concede being put on mailing lists etc that's just part of the game, and if the greedy grasping few who don't appreciate free stuff for what it is - who don't play by the rules - then sorry the company's got every right to modify the offer or take more time to sort the genuine applications from the blaggers.PS I regularly steal pens, make calls, use the Internet and occasionally steal small sums of cash from my workplace, as well as personal effects from my colleagues.. Us newbies aint all whiter than white (and if you take that seriously I will cry, honest. Though the pen bit may be true). PS Got my vouchers eventually, no thanks to military action just patience :rotfl: :rotfl:
  • CDwow are aiming to have it all done and dusted by the 15th I am told.... I still don't know which way its going.

So i gather you would rather have companies stop running these promotions, because if it gets too expensive then thats what they will start to do. Or will limit it, at extra cost which will firstly reduce the amount you can save, or reduce the amount of people who can apply, secondly most of the people on this site will lose out too, as i doubt many will qualify if they make the sign up procedure harder to scam. So to be honest with the militant attitude on this site you are simply shooting yourselves in the foot.

Its a shame we couldn’t have a vote on who thinks that its MSE or CDWOW who are at fault, you could probably could say its 50/50 CD WOW should have made the offer water tight and shouldn’t be messing about now trying to sort it out, but greed doesn’t make anyone happy. The more you have the more you want.

Sorry Blagger.. I mis-read your other post.. You're right about people's rights to 'complain' about what is essentially a free 'blag'!! That just isn't on!

personally i find it ridiculous that Cdwow can say no to something they offered to laods of people with a huge loophole. they should honour what they have offered.

i didnt buy the magazine, but then again i subscribed to timeoutlondon for 2 years so i think ive spent more than my fair share on the magazine.

    Wikipedia:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_Out

The London edition costs £2.50 per week (January 2006 prices) and has a circulation of 86,000 copies and a readership of 374,000 people (Jan-Jun 2003 figures).

And they've had 85000 applications. So what's the problem? ALL their readers have applied. Isn't that great? They should be happy!
