    A good point itsnevertoolateisit

Some private schools are being bought by the state sector and turned into academies. I don't know how that works with your timings but I'd ask the local LEA whether it is something that they are considering - after all, a lot of people are feeling the pinch and they are going to have to put hundreds of students somewhere if they enter the state system.

If it's what she wants, I'd let her go to Roedean.

What she does uniform wise I'd leave as her choice.

Live where you are, it's nicer.

Think about ditching the local business ... and enjoy your time a bit more.

What would you do? It's very MSE fees wise.

If you really can work from anywhere then I would stay and let her go to Roedean for the year. Not only will it look fab on her CV but it keeps some degree of continuity for her in what is a pretty important time for her. She will have her friends and I am sure that they will fit in just fine.

I'd rather spend extra on rent than spend extra on a completely new school
    - that seems more of a financial risk. As someone who went from private school to comprehensive, it's a social education much akin to a baptism of fire! If the school she is at now is good then she'll fly by her exams wherever she is - I was the same age when I transferred and I learned nothing except how to follow the male teachers (totally new experience for me!) around :o

I just read that HPC thread.......the pervy schoolfgirl comments aren't nice to read.

DD never had any Russian mates. It had a broad mix of pupils and a gave out a lot of bursaries. There were some pool and pony types, but the majority were just like us. Paid fees by cutting back elsewhere (no hols ever, tight household budget etc).

The head and deputy were lovely and ran a good set up IMO. Women running a school for women. I liked it.
