That last IE Reset you did will have temporarily disabled any IE Add-ons you have installed.
It is likely that one or more of them may have been causing IE to close.
If you're feeling brave you could try re-enabling them (only the ones you need!) until the error re-occurs (the mathematicians amongst us will tell you to renable half of them and if all is okay disable those and renable the other half!). Hopefully then you can narrow it down gradually to one add-on.

To re-enable them go to - Tools - Manage Add-ons > Enable or disable Add-ons. Then enable the ones you recognise then Ok and exit the Add-ons window then you must close and restart IE. Restart and use IE for a while, click on links as you would til you're sure all is normal. Then re-enable the other add-ons in the same way.
If you can identify a particular add-on that causes the problem to re-occur you can leave it disabled but preferably remove it from the PC. Post again in this thread if you need help doing that.

Its a pain in the a$$ I know but its the best way to narrow it down.

edit - oh and if anything similar happens again you can start IE7 without add-ons by right-clicking on the IE7 icon on your desktop and select "Start without add-ons". Always useful to try

You've done really well so far so keep it up :T

It would be safer to use FIREFOX in place of internet explorer

Either way ~ your good to go :)

Ok, done that. I did them one by one but when I came to do the O3 one it wasnt there?? I'm assuming thats ok?
My PC is no longer crashing and I will have a go at finding that little blighter add-on that was causing the problems!!

A MASSIVE MASSIVE THANKYOU TO YOU, ALIENRIK AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO HAS HELPED ME, I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR GIVING UP YOUR TIME TO HELP A COMPLETE STRANGER IN DISTRESS!!

Take aliEnRIK's advice and give FireFox a try. Even if you don't like it you'll at least have an alternative to IE if there's a problem. (and FF is much more stable!)
