My Computer Keeps Crashing.....

Hi there
My computer is about 2.5-3 years old now and it has been brilliant up till now.
I have norton antivirus installed on it.
I am completely UN-technical
Evertime I try to click on a link of any sort for example a link posted on a thread here, or a link from an email I get that box that says somthing like... error - do you want to send an error message or not click yes or no.... and then it chucks me out of the internet
I have run the defagment and file clear up thingys but hasnt made a difference.
It is driving me absolutely mad and I'm panicking as my life is on this pc, with all my photos, emails addresses, EBay account for making a few pennies and of course MSE so if anyone can help I would be very grateful.
Thanks very much
Karen

If you follow riks links you wont go wrong. You cant corrupt your computer forever if the worse comes to the worse its just a reinstall and lessons learned. Follow rik links post the Hijack log and well see where we are.

Dont worry its not going to break the computer.

At the basics ~ we NEED at LEAST HIJACK THIS on your computerTo do this your going to have to get into SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING
Certainly just keep trying till you get that part right

Then you need to find internet explorer (Dont worry that the sceen looks 'odd', it has to do that as no drivers are loaded in)
Click the link provided and download HIJACK THIS to your computer (Make sure you know WHERE it goes)

reboot and follow the hijack instructions

~ if you REALLY struggle getting safe mode up and running then try resetting internet explorer
If you really cant get that running then reset internet explorer ~
    1. Open Internet Explorer 7.
    2. Click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
    3. Click the Security tab.
    4. Click Reset all zones to default level, and then click OK.

    Thats supposed to happen
Goto START and scroll along to the options to reboot (Should be right next to where you press to shut it down ~ or do you just press the power button? (you really shouldnt))

The Reboot /Restart option should be offered when you go to shutdown.
Or just shutdown as normal and press the power button to restart.
