Damn! I took in a leaflet from Kwik Save showing all 2 litre bottles of Coke / Diet Coke for 89p. This is 11p cheaper than the 3 for £3 offer at ASDA.

Id hoped to get both the price match and the 89p each but the lady putting it through priced one bottle at £1.73 so I wouldnt get the 84p discount  :P

Ah well, got other price matched items like Bold 5.5kg for £5.99, Aunt Bessie's Suasage meat balls for 92p and Tetley's 160 teabags for £1.33  ;D

I know I could go to KwikSave for the same items but   ASDA is handily on the way to the bus stop  8)

    Vive la price matching!

Oops forgot to mention: Middlebrook, Bolton ASDA

  • Swattie,

Will they price match Tesco's Blue Label vodka mistake of £5.01 ?

Now that would be worth travelling for . LOL

Because that is a Tesco own label they wont match it as its a brand not sold in ASDA.

    :-/
  • Does anyone know if they take milk tokens when you're not buying milk?

I very seldom need to buy 7 pints at once and if I used all 4 at once I could get £8 off my shopping.

Dont know if I'd have the neck to do it though :-[

If you are buying anything reduced in ASDA and have a bit of time on you hands, go through the checkout served by a guy!  I'm not being sexist or anything, but they generally are a bit slower at scanning all of the items.

The guys are more likely just to scan the item without taking the discount off.

I've found that about 3 out of every 10 times through one of their checkouts, they make a mistake.....The girls are faster, but seem to take a bit more care in what they are doing, ie less likely to make a mistake.Chris

I have found this to be true too! I once bought two very large towels at Debenhams. A young lad served me and just scanned one of the towels (I didn't realise until I was walking away and looked at the receipt). So I got a BOGOF by mistake!

Also, I was doing my usual food shop over the internet (a major supermarket) and when I looked at my receipt after delivery, instead of the usual numbers which were my debit card numbers there was a very strange number in its place! The money for that week's shopping was never taken, so I got a free week's shop! :) The shopper named on the receipt was male!

Now Im not usually sexist but if I particularly want something doing properly I tend to try to be served by an older woman rather than a young woman and definitely not a man!
  • ASDA are absolutely superb, don't have one yet here in Milton Keynes, but whenever I pass one I always shop there and save a fortune. Their own brands are good quality and cheaply priced (cheaper than Tesco - better quality then tesco) Brilliant range too.

I used to shop at the Coventry one a lot when I lived up there, thought it was cheeky when I saw other people using vouchers for stuff they hadn't even bought. Apparently not then.

I got a 3 ltr bottle of Ribena for £2 something as it was half price in Sommerfield and I had a leaflet so was well chuffed. Especially as I don't shop in Sommerfield as it's not very close to me. It was the first time I brought in a leaflet into Asda to do a price match.

Alot of Morrisons buy 1 get 1 free offers aren't printed on leaflets which is a real shame, otherwise I'd be taking it with me to do my shopping at Asdas.

  • I don't have any coupons or leaflets, but if I goto say, Morrisons site ans print off all the deals, will Asda honour them??

  • regarding the ASDA pricematch-today i wanted a PS2 Game, armed with the voucher for Dixons any PS2 Game £24.99 form fridays d/express, they were again not very happy, because their policy now is, the advert must be from the actual day you want to purchase the item/unless it has an expiery date printed on it-which fortunately it had.Asda swansea
  • Re the £2 shopping card for overcharging.
I have seen the Asda staff training manual on this one. THIER policy is to refund the difference and give a £2 shopping card as compensation. Don't let any staff tell you otherwise. I am well known in our local Asda, so now the staff don't argue with me when I tell them thier policy (though some might try!). If in doubt, as to speak to the manager, get them to check thier manual (usually behind the cust. serv. desk). If you go there and buy reduced items a lot, keep the reciept(s) as proof and show them the next time it happens, and believe me it will. It's THIER policy, I am not making it up, and so it's there to use to your advantage.
"Excuse me, this expires today, will you be reducing it?"
