A MUST to read if you have an Asda to shop in

Oh, another thing I forgot to say.
If you are buying anything reduced in ASDA and have a bit of time on you hands, go through the checkout served by a guy! I'm not being sexist or anything, but they generally are a bit slower at scanning all of the items.
The guys are more likely just to scan the item without taking the discount off.
I've found that about 3 out of every 10 times through one of their checkouts, they make a mistake which allows you to collect your £2 gift card from customer services plus the correction.
Chris
is that true?? If a mistake has been made an Asda checkout, you can claim a £2 gift card from customer services plus the correction?? wow... I love Asda but they're checkout employees do tend to make mistakes frequently, male AND female, old AND young :P I can't leave Asda without going through each and every item on my receipt!
have always been rejected when trying to use Tesco or Sainsbury vouchers at Asdamust give it a try again.

Yes it's true ;D about the £2 gift card as well as the refund of overcharge.
Sainsburys could take a leaf out of their book!0 -
Has anyone tried this in Asda in Kirkcaldy? Do I pay first and then go to customer service counter? I actually drive further to the next town to shop at Asda; there's a Morrisons and Co Op in our town but I don't really like them. I want to ask for a discount but would feel really mortified if they said no or looked at me strangely! :-[I have the mind of a criminal genius. I keep it in the freezer next to Mother....0

I have done the price match in Asda for ages.
Usually the staff don`t know about it, although there is a giant poster in the entrance.
Last week the cashier (nice middle aged lady ) just put the BOGOF things through without scanning them.
If in Tesco, always choose the young lads on the checkout. Preferably the ones with gel in their spiky hair. They don`t know what day it is ???A watched pot always boils. :j0 -
our local tesco will take any vouchers for products they sell even if you dont buy them, up to 50% of your bill.WWSD(what would Scooby Doo)0

Regards Asda taking other stores vouchers, I noticed at Asda Spondon today that they have a sign stating they accept Sainsbury's & Tesco's vouchers, so they definitely do there
(Unfortunately for me, as always I didn't have them in my bag - not very MSE!!)
As for the comment about Sainsburys could take a leaf out of Asda's book, I have to say that Sainsbury's at Chaddesden has always been excellent when it comes to checkout errors.
I once got charged incorrectly for something, an eyeliner or other item of makeup, and they not only refunded the cost of the item, but they gave me the item free.
And I remember my Mum once leaving something in a trolley, so we rang when we got home.
It apparently hadn't been found, but they took a note, and asked us to report to Customer services next time we were there. When we did, they had kept a record, and refunded Mum the money for the lost item.
Mind you I have to say, I've always felt that the Chaddesden store is the best I have ever been to. It might not have the full choices being a smaller branch, but the the staff are always friendly and customer service has always been second to none.0 -
i was behind a woman at tesco customer services when she was paying £50 into her tesco savings acount, after she had signed the thing she noticed that the woman had set it up as a £50 withdrawl.
after a lot of appolagising they put the £50 into her account and gave her £100 cash.
why does that never happen to me ???WWSD(what would Scooby Doo)0 -
Will they price match Tesco's Blue Label vodka mistake of £5.01 ?
Now that would be worth travelling for . LOL0 -
Morrison are currently doing 2 litre pepsi 2 for 1. 4 bottles come to £2.56. Asda have them on offer @ 4 bottles for £3.00. If you take a Morrison leaflet in for a price match the multisave takes £2.12 off the 4 bottles leaving you to pay 44 pence in total for the 4 bottles. As long as you are buying other shopping it will be absorbed into the total bill. so they dont notice. I am not sure wether they would cancel the multisave if you just bought them on their own.0

Make sure you have an hour to spare!!!! I was behind someone today who had a bunch of coupons, and the dopey woman at the checkout took a million years to work out the discounts. I was not amused especially when she tried 390 times to re-weigh a peice of beef at Somerfield price. remember you may save a few quid but you are sure going to P**S someone off behind youNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0
