  • you need to present the leaflet at the till, I usually put all my 'specials' through together and warn the checkout person first, it helps them if you obviously identify the special on the conveyor and on the leaflet

I had another good offer last week
£1.99 9 roll pack velvet from netto leaflet
but asda had 9 roll packs with three extra rolls free
    £12 rolls for £1.99 - bargain!

I would love to do this but I get absolutely no leaflets through the door at all - will they accept any other proof?
    Thanks

I've done it at the Asda in Newton Mearns, Blantyre and Hamilton.

Mostly you don't even need to say anything to the cashier - I just balance the leaflet on top of the items and they have a quick check before discounting.

It's a pity that Safeway stopped their offer leaflets, although we have started getting Somerfield/Kwik-Save ones now which do the same job!

    Good Old ASDA!!!

Oh, another thing I forgot to say.

If you are buying anything reduced in ASDA and have a bit of time on you hands, go through the checkout served by a guy! I'm not being sexist or anything, but they generally are a bit slower at scanning all of the items.

The guys are more likely just to scan the item without taking the discount off.

I've found that about 3 out of every 10 times through one of their checkouts, they make a mistake which allows you to collect your £2 gift card from customer services plus the correction.

The girls are faster, but seem to take a bit more care in what they are doing, ie less likely to make a mistake.

Hope this helps someone make a few quid (and I am male myself!)

  • Asda accepted my Tesco total spend voucher last week. Spend £60 voucher for £12 off. Lad on checkout questioned it - but I had checked with customer services first and they said no problem.

I've just got back from Asda in Slough (Cippenham). I asked the supervisor what their policy was on accepting vouchers from other shops. She said that they will take any shops vouchers for up to a third of the total bill.

Very handy. I just happened to find some old M and S vouchers today. With my bill of £151, they took £50 of vouchers. What a bonus!

It might be worth asking at each store locally to see how many vouchers they will accept in one go. I was only expecting them to take 10% of the total.
